This building will become part of Kemayoran Cyber City. Which is one of Jakarta new CBDs. Afaik, currently they still building the base foundation, which cost Rp. 60 billion (~US$6 million).
It's very good to have the tallest tower in the region, and I'm very glad too.

But for a sec I thought, Is this really a need for Jakarta and Indonesia?, Very big capital of investment. Instead of building this, I think the government should be cleary focussing on improving life qualities of people who live in remote areas, rural Islands or even in the big cities it's self.

Just my opinion though, nothing serious.
Wow, great news! I always loved the rendering of this tower and I'm happy that it's going to be built. :)
Chad, this project is fully funded by the private sector...so it doens't affect the government's budget for everything else. Besides, the construction of this tower will employ thousands of workers over a period of 5 years.

Chad, fully agree, but isn't it similar in Bangkok or Manila. :dunno:

what an awesome looking building... will look even better when its all lit up at night
More photos/renders please. Looks very interesting.
there is always a thin line between spending and using CHAD
Nice job, and they are already constructing. Keep up the good work.
Hahaha, we Canadians should stick a few hockey sticks on top of the CN tower and make it taller.:D
If this thing really tops out there will be a spire battle between this tower and the CN.
Well, the CN tower couldn't be the tallest forever. Now we need a new taller for NA
CN Tower is 553.3m isn't it so it wont take to many hockey sticks at all for them to beat 558m & claim back the title of worlds tallest tower :)

When completed Jakarta Tower will also be the tallest structure in the southern hemisphere, eclipsing the Omega Base Mast at Gippsland (Victoria, Australia) at 427m.
