[JAKARTA] Transjakarta Busway - A lot of pictures
Images collected from internet in year 2003-2004 when Transjakarta line 1 was underconstruction.
I've tried it when in Jakarta summer 2004, it's good and the city should build more lines.... faster.

Great pics, tata. Do you have a system map for all the lines (completed and u/c)?
Awww...too bad there isnt any other way. Jakarta desperately needs its trees.
They should use low floor buses for the busway. And also, they should have long, articulated buses to accomodate more passengers:

^^ I think its safe to say that Daewoos are cheaper than Mercedes, Mitsubishi and Hino.
Jakarta had articulated buses till the mid 90s? I was already in Jakarta in the 90s, and i never saw one. :dunno:

and to do so, they need to cut more trees!
Yeah, i only remember seeing the double decker buses. They were ugly, but made the street scene more interesting. They were Volvos if i remember correctly. But i still dont remember seeing any gandengs.

Good to know that the local govt is serious about the busway by developing more lines...which is the only way to make the system work.
