The Jamnagar Airport (IATA: JGA, ICAO: VAJM) officially known as Civil Enclave Jamnagar, is an airport in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. It is the only airport in Gujarat which has two runways. It is owned by the Indian Air Force and also permits both commercial as well as private flights. The airport sees a daily flight to Mumbai by Air India. Star Air will connect it to Bengaluru and Hyderabad from August 26 and in future will connect it to Hindon. The airport is currently undergoing an expansion wherein existing Terminal building having an area of 2025 sqm shall be extended by 2220 sqm. The extended terminal building will have all modern amenities including 6 check in counters, 6 nos. of Airlines offices, 2 arrival conveyor belts, and a city side car parking for 150 cars. The extended apron will have parking for 2 A320/737 and 1 ATR-72 or 1 A320/737 and 3 ATR-72 in power-in and power-out configuration with 2320 sqm GSE area and includes an apron for a Hangar (55m X 60m) having a total area of approx. 18160 sqm.

Star will start Bengaluru-Jamnagar and Jamnagar-Hyderabad flights wef. 26th August.

The airline also had won Jamnagar-Hindon route under UDAN and might start that route in the coming months.

Minister of Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia flagged off the first direct flight operations on Jamnagar-Bengaluru & Jamnagar-Hyderabad routes

UDAN's going places!!! Just a few days back India's easternmost airport: Tezu saw commercial flights restart after decades and today India's westernmost airport: Jamnagar sees additional flights after many years. Such a great moment for Indian aviation and UDAN scheme. BTW inaugural Bengaluru-Jamnagar flight had around 80% occupancy on the arrival leg and 90% occupancy on the departure leg.

Star Air has rescheduled the timings of it's flight from Jamnagar as follows :

JGA-BLR OG132 10:55AM - 01:10PM
BLR-JGA OG131 01:45PM - 04:00PM
HYD-JGA OG150 08:20AM - 10:30AM
JGA-HYD OG149 04:25PM - 06:30PM

This looks to be a better schedule as it gives an additional flight to BLR (via HYD) and the BLR flight too is at convenient afternoon timings as opposed to the early morning departure from BLR previously which was called inconvenient by many. HYD flight too now is a morning arrival and evening departure. Overall a good thing for people travelling to and from Jamnagar.

SpiceJet's maiden appearance at Jamnagar Airport. Operating a charter flight on Mumbai - Jamnagar - Jaipur sector with a Boeing 737-800. Hope to see SpiceJet operating schedule operations from Jamnagar in near future. I guess there is enough demand for flights to Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad from Jamnagar which I believe airlines should tap on soon.

Close on the heels off SpiceJet's maiden charter flight to Jamnagar, Star Air too operated its maiden charter flight to the city yesterday carrying Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Zaheer Khan and their families to Jamnagar to attend the first birthday party of Prithvi, first grandson of Mukesh Ambani and Neeta Ambani which was celebrated on the Ambani family farmhouse in Jamnagar. Also to fly in were two other private jets of Reliance group bringing the Ambani family members to the city

Seen here on FR24 are the Indian cricketers and their families flying between Mumbai and Jamnagar on the Star Air aircraft

Also Star Air operated the first flight by a commercial aircraft at night to Jamnagar which was flown in from Ahmedabad
