Does anyone have any updates on this project? IHG Hotels & Resorts [the owners of the Six Senses, InterContinental, Holiday Inn and other brands] have recently said that they have signed a new Regent hotel in Jeddah but they haven't released an official or detailed statement yet.
Regent is a very well-respected luxury brand that has been through multiple owners and a lot of changes over the years, and IHG acquired it in 2018 with just six hotels. They'll be opening their eighth hotel in a month or so in Vietnam, and with the Jeddah hotel, they have six more upcoming. As a luxury hotel, I would imagine the Regent Jeddah will be in an excellent location on the Corniche so maybe it's going in this development?
