Even more progress - there are now EIGHT active construction sites (and one building definitely completed since last time - 420 Whiton St) in the Maple-Ash-Pacific St areas, all midrise buildings. There will be almost 800 units total added between these, and another 150+ if the other planned buildings start as well. Basically building a whole new neighborhood.

Other updates from two weeks ago:

Downtown -

The biggest news downtown is the demolition of the warehouse(s) on the 100 Colden (old One Bates) site in the Old Colony Square area. This is supposed to be a 12 story building. Along with the currently under construction 460 Grand St (10 stories), these two buildings would be game changers for this far corner of downtown. Worth wondering if the timing is somehow connected to the city proposal to designate Manhattan Building Co as redeveloper for the area. Not sure how it would be connected (maybe trying to show progress to hold onto property). We'll see over the next few months.

Otherwise, there are several more demolitions and new construction starts, especially in the Village area.

I'm not sure what to call this area - so let's call it Bergen Hill and the Communipaw Corridor

37-39 Cornelison Ave - an odd location for a residential building, with it's back up against Bergen Hill, but facing a few blocks of warehouses and industrial buildings. There's another similar sized building proposed right next to it as well.

712 Grand St - possibly stalled.

503-509 Communipaw - 5 story building proposed

2 Park St - nice renovation, although not sure if it's been finished for a while

30 Clinton Ave - there obviously hasn't been much movement here in a while

Same with the 25 Clinton, the cleared site across the street, which has a 4 story building proposed

Big news - looks like the Statco Building/Emerson Lofts has started demolition. Manhattan Building Company (same company that build Cast Iron and SoHo Lofts) is constructing several news buildings around the factory (which will be partially reused).
