And these are from around 1.5-2 weeks ago:

The Malibu and a few smaller buildings on Skillman

461 Newark Ave

380 Newark Ave

332 Newark

270 Newark

255 Newark

245 Newark

141-143-145 Newark

228 Bay

277 2nd St - sign for Ridge Restoration - maybe something will happen soon?

321 Warren - The Lively (I think Summer of 2019 is super optimistic considering they barely got out of the ground...)

Canopy Hotel - few weeks of pictures

Something odd was added a week or two ago - this ugly, tall electric wire. Why??? They should be burying them, not adding much higher and more visible ones!

Posting from the Bergen-Lafayette thread:

From last week:
Even more progress - there are now EIGHT active construction sites (and one building definitely completed since last time - 420 Whiton St) in the Maple-Ash-Pacific St areas, all midrise buildings. There will be almost 800 units total added between these, and another 150+ if the other planned buildings start as well. Basically building a whole new neighborhood.

440 Whiton/The Ashton

331 Pine Street - no info really, but this one is suddenly piling too.

313-321 Pine St - topped out and being clad, still not building the other building on Whiton St

323-325 Pine St - looks like part of the neighboring 321 Pine St, but is actually a separate 7 story building built by Shuster Construction

72-74 Maple St/65-71 Monitor St - confusing, as these two appear to be separate projects, and yet the street between them was closed and it's hard to tell which one (or both) is using the crane.

65-71 Monitor:

72-74 Maple:

And both - 65-71 Monitor in foreground, 72-74 Maple in back. You can see Maple St closed between them (between Pine and Monitor)

100 Monitor (300 unit building) has also started - may already have finished piling

132 Monitor/125 Garabrant - I believe this is a two-building project but only one is currently under construction

313-321 Johnston Ave - no movement on the GothamWest lot

Outside of that small area, some other Bergen-Lafayette projects

312 Pacific

712 Grand St

BeLovED Charter Middle School

Also there's construction going on behind the current BeLovED School

Minor constructions and renovations

Downtown:

460 Grand

100 Colden - the warehouse on site is still there and the project is in limbo with the city's attempt to take the area by eminent domain, but they still seem to have a sales office in the nearby Old Colony Square? It's called Golden 100 - when I peeked inside it seemed to be 2 guys sitting by a folding table.

158 Mercer

NJ Public Library

72 Wayne St - this is taking forever. Looks good though

Hilton Canopy

141-145 Newark Ave

245 Newark

461 Newark

Other parts of JC:
McGinley Square - 720 Bergen continues - the signage seems to imply it was supposed to be done by Spring. I wonder what seems to have held them up? Other smaller projects in the area are moving, but nothing big yet

720 Bergen

725 Bergen

220 Monticello Ave

Various nearby sites and activity

65 Storms Ave

Bergen Hill - 136 Summit actually moving, 37-39 Cornelison as well. Smaller renos ongoing

Other updates from two weeks ago:

Downtown -

The biggest news downtown is the demolition of the warehouse(s) on the 100 Colden (old One Bates) site in the Old Colony Square area. This is supposed to be a 12 story building. Along with the currently under construction 460 Grand St (10 stories), these two buildings would be game changers for this far corner of downtown. Worth wondering if the timing is somehow connected to the city proposal to designate Manhattan Building Co as redeveloper for the area. Not sure how it would be connected (maybe trying to show progress to hold onto property). We'll see over the next few months.

Otherwise, there are several more demolitions and new construction starts, especially in the Village area.

141-143-145 Newark Ave

72 York St - 8 story building proposed here. Not sure if that dumpster is related or just something that's been there

130 Essex St - 4 story proposed. Not sure how recently this site was demolished

Quinn, the counterpart to Lenox, is now open as well from the looks of it

Vantage - judging by the painting of this mural, I wouldn't expect Phase 2 soon. Not that the cost is prohibitive, but if it was imminent I assume they wouldn't have bothered.

No movement on the hotel site between the two Vantage phases either

206-208 York St

220 York St

238 York St - recently demolished, no other info

16 Bright St

158 Mercer St

100 Colden St - recently demolished

With 460 Grand St in the background

460 Grand St

461-469 Newark Ave

Compare to rendering (from Jerseydigs):

400 Newark Ave - this trailer is probably still related to the recently opened 380 Newark Ave, rather than the next one

400 7th St - this was also recently demolished. 8 Story building proposed

382-384 7th St

387 8th St

385 8th St

Some rubble and dirt on another LeFrak lot, the next in line after Embankment and Revetment House (between Monmouth and Brunswick)

Speaking of which, Revetment House, Embankment House, Hamilton House and the recent 372 9th St have really changed this side of town

323 7th St

320 7th St

320.5 6th St - this thing has been under construction for over 2 years now...

342.5-344 5th St

359 5th St

366 6th St

332 Newark Ave

375 5th St - recently demolished. 5 or 6 story building going here

200 Merseles St - now under construction

In the future, this view will be full of 5-8 story buildings

351 3rd St - possibly under construction, but more likely just staging for 128 Brunswick

128 Brunswick St

414 1st St

370 1st St - being demolished

102 Brunswick St

369 2nd St

255 Newark Ave

245 Newark Ave, sitting idle

228 Bay St

Hilton Canopy Hotel

175 Second St - actually piling now

321 Warren St - growing fast

I'm not sure what to call this area - so let's call it Bergen Hill and the Communipaw Corridor

37-39 Cornelison Ave - an odd location for a residential building, with it's back up against Bergen Hill, but facing a few blocks of warehouses and industrial buildings. There's another similar sized building proposed right next to it as well.

712 Grand St - possibly stalled.

503-509 Communipaw - 5 story building proposed

2 Park St - nice renovation, although not sure if it's been finished for a while

30 Clinton Ave - there obviously hasn't been much movement here in a while

Same with the 25 Clinton, the cleared site across the street, which has a 4 story building proposed

609 Communipaw - being renovated

572 Jackson St (the site behind it) - 5 story proposed

642 Communipaw - complete

Not sure how new the gym and Taproot Organics are, but they advertise CBD edibles - I assume that's new

Monticello Ave - there are a lot of empty storefronts here (between Communipaw and Jewett). There's some signs of life here in some renovated buildings, but it definitely looks like it could use some love.

119 Monticello Ave

Some other recent renovations and lots - the street is basically a mix of old empty storefronts, with empty lots and a few renos mixed in

McGinley Square - this area is seeing more proposals. It may be on the verge of a breakout.

136 Summit Ave - this and the next one are kind of on the edge of McGinley Square, not really part of it

118 Summit Ave - they appear to have recently cleared some of the trees/bushes. Maybe something, maybe just part of the next door site

19 Jewett Ave

The lot between Storms and Summit Ave has been clear for a while, but I've never seen this trailer and fencing up

39 Storms Ave - recently demolished

65-67 Storms Ave - not sure if it's directly related, but they seem to be renovating/rebuilding the house on Fairmount Ave (directly behind the site) as well

78 Storms Ave - the warehouse in the back will be replaced by a 6 story building

720 Bergen Ave - it looks like they've gotten their facade issue sorted out

725 Bergen Ave - new fencing? not sure

711 Montgomery St - nothing yet

289 Jordan Ave - foundation work

Big news - looks like the Statco Building/Emerson Lofts has started demolition. Manhattan Building Company (same company that build Cast Iron and SoHo Lofts) is constructing several news buildings around the factory (which will be partially reused).
