From the light rail train it appears they've started working at the Van Leer site.

Yep. They closed off the parking lot and replaced the fences a few months back.

There's some heavy equipment on the "South" site (South of Hoboken Ave).

The other side also has new gravel and a portable toilet, along with some other trailers

I'm not sure if they plan to do them both at once, or one at a time.

Van Leer South - think they may be doing environmental remediation. That or foundation

220 Eighteenth St (site behind Lackawanna Warehouse) - LeFrank put up a rendering of a potential future building here. This site is also where they wanted to add a light rail station (assuming it takes up the entire block).

Statco Warehouse - Redevelopment Plan passed to add 3 26 story towers and a police station to the building. Same developer as Cast Iron Lofts

It is almost in this neighborhood, behind the Home Depot by Newport Mall. Two enormous towers, one 57 stories and one 59 stories high will go on a site here. Together they will have 750 apartments, 250,000 square feet of non-residential uses (likely offices with some retail, although the area is a pedestrian dead-zone and the Port Authority would probably like to keep it that way), and 1098 parking spots.

There are power lines all over the city. I doubt they'll be burying them anytime soon.

Looks like the Statco Building/Emerson Lofts has started demolition. Manhattan Building Company (same company that build Cast Iron and SoHo Lofts) is constructing several news buildings around the factory (which will be partially reused).

Interesting, little-known fact: Toll Brothers, which has been developing Provost Square in the PAD, owns Manhattan Building Co., which is the developer of basically this entire neighborhood. So this neighborhood is basically Toll Brothers' largest urban development project.

Very interesting, but I'm not sure it's entirely true. From the company's website:

"As the owner and founder of The Manhattan Building Company in 1994, Mr. Weiss focused on multi-family residential communities. In 2003 he sold the company’s assets to the leading national home-building company Toll Brothers and, with their Chairman Robert Toll, created Toll’s urban brand with the formation of Toll’s City Living division. During his tenure with Toll Brothers Mr. Weiss served as City Living’s President, responsible for leadership of the entire division, and successfully completed the new company’s first project, the highly successful Sky Club Condominiums in Hoboken.

Upon a planned departure from Toll Brothers to pursue other development interests, Mr. Weiss formed White Diamonds Properties LLC, launching the development of the remarkable luxury communities The Cliffs Lofts in Jersey City, NJ and The Observer Lofts in Hoboken, NJ.

It sounds like he sold the company to Toll Brothers in 2003, then left somewhere in 2007-2008 and reformed Manhattan Building Co. I could ask around further but I'd be surprised if Toll Brothers still owned the current Manhattan Building Co

Soho West - movement on six projects here - Van Leer North, 100 Hoboken Ave (the site next to it), 39 New York Ave (also the Hoboken Brownstone Company, same as Van Leer), Holiday Inn Express, the Emerson Lofts and the other 14th St development (just closing the lot). As this neighborhood fills out...I hope Jersey City remembers to add that light rail station.

14th St - nothing really going on here, but this lot appears to have been closed. This is the site of a planned 18-story development

The Enclave - looks good
