Underground utilities were marked up around the site last week and a soil testing rig arrived onsite this morning for geotechnical sampling. The tower is supposed to break ground before the end of the year (rendering below).

When completed, this will be the fourth-largest tower in Jersey City (and the state of New Jersey) by unit count, behind 99 Hudson, Urby, and Journal Squared #2.

This looks like a decent facade in all of the renders and will greatly improve the streetscape around those Towers in a Park(ing Lot). Hopefully they won't scrimp on it.

Well, it's the first weekday of the month, and sure enough, Mack-Cali is indeed moving forward with its new mega tower at 25 Columbus. I was surprised to see the entire southwest corner of the parking lot at Montgomery Tower sectioned off with a construction fence tonight as there was no activity at all this morning. Looks like all the cars that were parked there moved during the day to make way for a staging and construction management trailer area.

This area is in the footprint of where the multi-level parking deck will be....I'm guessing the management trailer arrives tomorrow or Weds.

Time to change the status of this one to U/C!!

Can't wait to see this one start going up
+1.

A second larger excavator arrived today along with several truck loads of fill soil, crushed stone, and pipe. Looks like they're going to do some infrastructure work first in that corner of the parking lot.

With this, 321 Warren, 10 Provost, and the second phase of Hudson Exchange, Warren Street is going to start looking like a street in Manhattan.

This will be a great project with a high-quality facade that fills in part of a previously untouchable parking lot.
