I think the national stadium is quite boring, even ugly you can say. But the indoor stadium is actually pretty cool  It was designed by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange who also designed the UOB Plaza and OUB Centre.
Dun worry...the national stadium will be demolished in 2 year's time. :D

Those memories Singaporeans had from the many national day celebrations held there... Oh well, I guess its time to go anyway. If we were to be a sports hub in the region, the National Stadium now is definately inadaquate for that job... :)

The Singapore Indoor Stadium

The Singapore Indoor Stadium is an air-conditioned multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility designed by internationally acclaimed architect Kenzo Tange.

Built at a cost of $90 million, its unique, ultra-modern design boasts an eye-catching roof which reflects an appreciation for traditional Asian culture. The two-sides of the futuristic drop-cone- shaped roof intersect at the top to form a structure similar to the number eight as written in Chinese. With a clear height of 25 metres at the sides, the roof towers to a maximum height of 40 metres at the center.

Since its opening in 1989, the Singapore Indoor Stadium has been the venue of choice for world-renowned acts like Disney on Ice and the opera AIDA, and entertainers such as Tina Turner, Placido Domingo, Jacky Chueng, Chage and Aska, and Phil Collins. A number of sports greats have played to sell-out crowds at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, including Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Susi Sansanti.

Favoured by event organizers for its versatility in stage design and layout, the stadium can accommodate between 7,000 and 12,000 people, depending on the position and size of the state required. Enhancing its versatility are the 1,200 portable seats and 2,660 retractable seats. There is also space to accommodate up to 20 wheelchairs.

wow i think it looks graet
Pictures of Singapore's OTHER waterfront!

Most Singapore waterfront shots feature the skyline of the financial district and are taken at Marina Bay.
Singapore does have another waterfront though, that at Kallang Bay. It is more of a residential and recreational area, a venue for boating activities and watersports.

Found these gorgeous shots from pbase.

Its a cafe and drinking place called "Cosy Bay". Access is via a spiral staircase in the structure. You can make it out in this model, its very tiny though but is located just to the right of that bridge, jutting out into the bay.
