Sorry for the image size.
Even though I heard about it many times during last 5 years, it seems like another election gimmick of political parties. It would be great if it becomes a reality. Still, there are some questions..

1. What is this Town Circle Service of KSRTC? Was it implemented anywhere in Kerala? If yes, was it successful?

2. Mattannur route will soon declared National Highway, ie Mele Chovva jn will become intersection of NH roads ( Like Edappally Jn in Kochi). We can expect a big traffic in the future. Never heard about an underpass being built at National Highway. Underpass is for city roads. Is building an underpass a right move?

3. Why no mention of KSRTC Depot? Kannur Depot is the worst HQ depot in Kerala. Its a shame no projects were approved for the renovation.

Once Kannur bypass is completed Mele Chovva won't be part of national highway. It will become city road only. That NH junction will be at Mundayad. Thalassery - Mahe bypass which is a national highway has several underpasses. BTW here the under pass will be in the existing NH. Not the Mattannur road.

Also no rules states that underpass is for city roads. Underpass or overpass is built when two roads intersect at different levels. If they are at same level a flyover will be needed.

Same day and two different news on same matter. In Panoor traders want a bypass so that they wont loss their shops when four lane airport highway is constructed.

Where as in Peravoor traders do not want bypass. They want the four lane highway to go right through their town. They are ready to leave their shops if properly compensated. They want their town to be developed. They fear that Peravoor will loose importance if a bypass is constructed.

It's nice to hear that things are atleast progressing and dsicussions are going on.
But my question is why is no one discussing about the the most important road that should be developed;the MeleChovva - Mattannur Road.
It will act as the gateway to the airport.

Road construction is high tech

Second road development project in the state using cold-milling technology The 17 km road from Kannur (Thana) to Dharmadam bridge will be upgraded using the latest technology. KK Builders has been awarded a contract worth Rs 31.26 crore. Work will begin soon. Cold milling technology was first developed in Alappuzha which is 22 km from Pathirappalli to Purakkad. A machine from Germany was used. The Tarring is 2.4 meters wide at a time.

People from Kannur side reallydeserve a descent Road to Airport. Don’t understand why Govt is not showing anyinterest in developing road from Kannur Town to Airport. All we forgot aboutGreenfield Road, now even Melechovva – Mattannur road also not there in their priority.Except this, all other roads are getting more priority.

I believe people from Vadakara –calicut side they can very well reach Airport once Thalassey – Valavupara roadis completed. Moreover people from Vadakara – Kuttyadi side coming to Airport viaPanoor – Koothuparamba Road. That means new road from Airport to Thalassey willserve only people from Thalassey side.

This is what I used to discuss all time.
What is the proposal of upgrading Melechovva- Mattannur- Mysore road to National highway.
If NHAI is not interested then state govt can take over the road and upgrade it to a state highway.
I personally feel a direct road from Kannur to the terminal side of Airport is mandatory.
Eichur- mowanchery- Ancharakkady road need to be four laned with bypasses at Chakkarkkal and Ancharakkandy.
Kannur / Azhikode MLAs are interested in these?
