Laid the foundation stone for the Nayakali tourism project



Western Ghats, brook and Natural Beauty of Malabar Has more potential to become more popular destination for tourists . The Minister said that the government's aim is to ensure that the tourism projects become a reality and that the people of those areas will get more employment. The minister was laying the foundation stone for the Naayikaali tourism project. The Minister said that the project will not end in 10 crore and the project will be made into an international tourism destination using a sum of Rs 20 crore.
Naayikaali is located on the Mannur side of the Vallapattanam river and borders the Koodali Panchayath and Mattannur Municipality. The first phase of the Rs.6 crore The river, the riverside and the small islands make it a great tourist destination for tourists to enjoy. Children's park, wooden hanging bridge, pedal boats, seating, solar lamps, cafeteria, kayak storage, walkways, tree huts, barricades, walkways, timber bridge, viewpoint, floating boat jetty,
The project will include a parking area, a gateway, a security cabin and a gate. The construction work is being done in a way that maintains the natural beauty and does not damage the environment.
Ten kilometers from the project area to Kannur Airport will be beneficial for the chain-centered chain tourism project will be benefited to Malabar tourism centers.

Stone laid for tourism information and facilitation centre in Kannur

Minister for Ports Kadannappally Ramachandran on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the Tourism Information and Facilitation Centre set up under the Tourism Department of the Government of Kerala to provide infrastructure facilities for tourists arriving in the district.

The Minister said it was important ensure the safety of travellers and to give them necessary facilities. “Responsible tourism must be ensured through local communities,” he said.

Boost to projects

The Kannur tourism sector would be a major boost to Malanad Malabar River Cruise Tourism and Thalassery Heritage Tourism projects, said the Minister.

He added that interventions were being made to increase the number of international flights to Kannur International Airport.

Mr. Ramachandran said work was under way to make the Azheekal port a reality. The Government was also planning to start a museum information centre in Kannur that would focus on the Theyyam ritual art and the handloom sector, he added. The Information Centre, to be set up at a cost of ₹2 crore, will consist of exhibition centre, interpretation centre, conference hall, sanitary room and cafeteria.

Michelin star chef Gordon Ramsay in Kannur for filming documentary on Malabar cuisine

Imagine ari pathiri, kallummakaya fry, Thalassery biriyani and other popular Malabar cuisines prominently figuring in the Michelin-starred restaurants in the dining capitals of New York and London. Going by the looks of it, this will be a reality very soon, attested by none other than Gordon Ramsay, the international chef, restaurateur, and television personality.

Ramsay was in Kannur reportedly shooting for a documentary on Malabar cuisine, which is expected to feature native chefs from north Kerala, especially Kannur.

Paithalmala Hill Station (65 kms from Kannur)
