My review:

- Very unimaginative, overdesigned architecture typical of arab styles
- in my view bad layout. Floor plans are not efficient, parking floors look like a maze
- taller claims than maybe how the actual project will be
- This building will consume NOTORIOUS amounts of energy. There seems to be no energy efficiency requirements built in. Only pro-environment thing I see is the office block layout maximizes natural lighting in the daytime. Otherwise it is centrally airconditioned, so will consume enormous amount of energy for its size. Maybe it should be required to have wind turbines for electricity generation on its top level.

Well in the end, everybody has their own tastes, however this building just doesnt cut it for me.

There's a lot of confusion about this project in the press. There is a 39 storey Gold Crest Executive building in Dubai which is being constructed by the Giga group. So why did they decide to name this one in Karachi the same as the one in Dubai? Sounds stupid.

Renders of the two look different though.

Go here and click on projects.

It would have been more sleek if it did not have the podium, i mean the design should have been the same from top to bottom. Office floors have a nice design.

Giga get their designs made by local architects, thats why the building looks so cheesy. I don't know who designed this but the architects for their Islamabad project were unknown locals.

I think that quality wise Giga's projects are halfway between a local builder and the international quality of Emaar, or even Enshaa.

By the way, its still unclear where exactly this project will be located. Could someone please clarify this?

As far as I remember this is being built somewhere away from the main downtown, now this might be near Dolmen City, or maybe towards the Karachi Port (Port Tower or even Mai Kolachi).

If you look at the signboard again it says "Karachi Waterfront" so might be somewhere near Dolmen City.

The building will be located caddy corner from Dolmen City (diagonally across the roundabout in front of it). On the corner of sea promenade and the road that goes up to Russian Counsulate/Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

Also, all new construction buildings these days are required by the KBCA to provide parking for all traffic they may attract. Hence the podium/basement car parkings you see in all new projects. This is actually a very good thing because Karachi has a massive parking/traffic problem. However these car parks could be designed in a better way.

Karachiite is right... giga's buildings are halfway between local maal and foren developments. But their building designs are usually even cheesier than the local mall. I ve see some good local designs too! Maybe giga doesnt go for professional reputable architects or places WAYYYY too much emphasis on over-decorated glamour.
