^^ You are right. Close the intersections. what is need for u turn at every half km. Let people make a u-turn from where underpasses are. Not that much of distance.

^^

I agree. & which genius's idea is that to make a U-turn at intersection.

How a vehicle coming from KBW road can go across towards jamaludin afghani road by taking a u-turn :bash: . & we all know our people are smart enough to save few meters they will definitely use those u-turns to go across
Is it U/C?
Is it U/C?
yes load testing started for tipu sultan flyover

^^I think they intend to construct underpasses on shaheed millat road thats why they are talking about u-turns. First of all it is bad idea to construct underpass on major road while widening it too. and secondly giving u-turn on 3 lane road is inviting traffic congestion.

And how will they construct underpass at hill park chowrangi as it is already on slope. Better decision would have been closing the hill park chowrangi intersection and making underpass at Siraj u daula road at naheed store and another underpass at Bahadur shah zafar road and no need for u-turn.

Can anyone post screenshot of Google Maps with location of underpasses and flyover marked?
Work starts on signal free corridor between Jail Chowrangi and Hino Chowrangi

KARACHI:
Two underpasses and a flyover on Shaheed-e-Millat Road are to be constructed by the provincial government this year in order to make a 10-kilometre-long signal-free corridor between Hino Chowrangi, Korangi and Jail Chowrangi.

According to the plan, the two underpasses will be constructed at the Hill Park and Tariq Road intersections on Shaheed-e-Millat Road while the flyover will be built at the Tipu Sultan intersection. The other two intersections on Shaheed-e-Millat Road, which lie at Khalid Bin Waleed Road and Naheed Superstore, will be closed and replaced by U-turns. The project will be completed by May 2018 at an estimated cost of Rs1.5 billion.

The construction of the signal-free corridor was planned by the local bodies department as a part of the Karachi package. The project will ease the flow of traffic at Shaheed-e-Millat Road, one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares.

Alternative traffic route arrangements are being made as work on the flyover at Tipu Sultan Road has already started.

Widening of the road going on from baloch colony to hill park.

.

Unfortunately trees are being cut down :eek:hno:

I dont think sm road needs expansion . it is wide enough. Just too many intersections cause traffic congestion

Crossed through this prettiest section today. Very unfortunate to see that trees have been cut down. Not all but still its not the same anymore.
^^ I don't think they have cut trees yet. Although I don't think this road needed to widened but I don't mind cutting trees for building something. But they should start planting trees to compensate the loss.

two people are witness here . still you think that :applause:

but I don't mind cutting trees for building something.
Why? don't you know about trees relocation?

But they should start planting trees to compensate the loss.
that's necessary whether they cut or not
