Even before it went U/C I already had a fascination for this project, so I had to visit the building site this year. There was some confusion over the height, but the construction sign tells us that it's 95.1m. The new design only reduced the height by 2 meters, nothing drastic.

It was also very easy to take a picture over the fence.

The site is so clean!!

Can I ask why you are fascinated with this project in particular?
It's completely irrational. The location in combination with the height and the design always had me wondering why this tower was going to be constructed here. It was also announced a very long time ago without any clear information when it would start. So I would regularly look for it on the internet to see if there would be more info. Only increasing the fascination even more every time I could find some tidbit of news.

I do often search for new info for all upcoming projects in places where there are no regular sources. But other projects haven't seen to grasped my attention like this one.

Irrational? How so? Looking at the area in Google Maps, there are some tallish buildings that seem relatively new, albeit not as much. If anything, Kariya is being rational and smart by encouraging vertical development over further sprawl into the farmland left between it and Nagoya. From deindustrialization and a declining population in more rural areas, it looks like it's reinventing itself as a nice bedroom community.

My own fascination for this project is irrational.
^^I see. Yeah, it's nice to see (re)developments in areas outside Central Tokyo and Osaka, even if they're not skyscrapers, or some concrete box elitists circlejerk around as "high" architecture. ;)
