The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is the highest paved international road in the world. It connects China and Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass, at an altitude of 4,693 m/15,397 ft as confirmed by both SRTM and multiple GPS readings. It connects China's Xinjiang region with Pakistan's Gilgit–Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions and also serves as a popular tourist attraction. Due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions in which it was constructed, it is also referred to as the "Ninth Wonder of the World."
The Karakorum Highway is known informally as the KKH, and — within Pakistan — officially as the N-35; within China, officially as China National Highway 314 (G314).

Any update on Attabad lake. Seems like attempt to drain it failed. Will there be a separate route ?
That is exactly what i am wondering. I mean right now if there is a total disconnect and the little goods that are transferred, are being tranferred to the other side by boat is a sad state of affairs. It should be a number 1 priority to reconnect the two sides. A tunnel may be financially unfeasable and also may take too much time. They should build a Road across it take the best anti-landslide measures in that section to avoid any future incident that took place at this scale. Just like they have in other parts of the highway.
