We are upgrading our roads in Malindi to bitumen and cabro standards in order to open up the town and attract more investors, improve accessibility to essential amenities like schools and hospitals while at the same time facilitating easy transportation of goods, people and services. In doing this, we are also improving access to markets, thereby spurring our economic growth.

The completion of the 5.5KM Malindi beach road which starts from Lawford’s Hotel all the way to the Malindi Marine Park will allow investors, especially those in the hospitality sector, to fully exploit the opportunities that Malindi town holds as we seek to transform the area into an international tourism and investment hub. So far, we have upgraded more than 15Km of roa
ds in Malindi to either bitumen or cabro standards.

Long overdue...

Why should Governor sticks his image on the road equipment machines yet the money came from all Kenya tax payers. I feel cheated that someone wants to take glory at the expense of all Kenyans. I find this to be too primitive.

I think this needs a thread, 2.5 billion development.

Sandy Shore Apartments

Groundbreaking

... “Other than the 200 units, the estate will also have a conference hall, children playing facility, big swimming pools, a restaurant and sea sports facility,” said Mr. Ezzi.

Next to Sandy Shores Apartments, a Chinese firm Sultan Development Limited is putting up the Sh5 billion Sultan Palace Beach Retreat with 198 houses.

This county will see alot of pricey properties going up. Its like the wealthy are fleeing neighboring Mombasa for Kilifi.

The more areas like Nyali become commercialised with highrises and office/residential tower blocks (I think it will end up like Upperhill) the more gated communities and other wealthy enclaves will come up in Kilifi.

When I saw that "a Chinese firm Sultan Development Limited" I was thinking to myself no way that must be fake! But did a two minute digging.

So is it true Sultan Palace Development Ltd is owned by Jiangxi Xinyu Real Estate Development Co. Ltd or are they partnering with a local firm?

This would be there second development at the coast. So I think they’re owned by the Chinese after the first project became a success.

Add in Palm Exotica and you can see the plan for a Miami type enclave for the rich and middle class, and retirees start to emerge.

Won't be long and you will see wealthy Chinese buying holiday beach homes. It's a huge market and Balala is just being short-sighted by vowing to stop Palm Exortica. Panama city skyline/real estate is mostly driven by vacation homes. Higher these buildings go they better the chance of conserving nature-opposed to sparse development
