Work starts on Wandle Road car park flats
Sutton & Croydon Guardian
April 2019
Work on a 25-storey block of flats overlooking the Croydon Flyover has started.

Last summer, Brick by Brick, the Croydon Council owned developer, was given the green light to build 128 new homes in the Wandle Road Surface Car Park in the town centre.

Work started on the site last month and the finished building, which will be called Kindred House, is due to be completed in March 2021.

Currently there are diggers on the former council-owned car park.

Demand is apparently high in London for living next to busy roads! I would be interested to meet some of the future residents and quiz them on their understanding of air pollution and life expectancy.
I was just thinking the same things. It might be all right on the top floors but lower it will be hell.

It's not only pollution but also noise. I have lived for a while next to South Circular, never again...

BTW, status in the thread title should be probably changed to "under construction", there is crane on site.

The lower levels are office and leisure space.
Ah it is good then, it is only a "leisure" space...

Some people must have strange ideas for leisure :ROFLMAO:

BTW, at what level will the flats start? Because at least first 5 or 6 floors will be severely affected by noise,

Dunno why not look up planning application and find out.

Leisure is usually things like gyms or cinema rooms etc so I'd doubt they are bothered with the view
