Hanshin Koshien Stadium, Kobe

Hone of the Hanshin Tigers. Also host venue of the National High School Baseball Championship.

Opened August 1, 1924 and reconstructed 2007-2010

I like this stadium, probably because of the ivy. I think it's unique, anyway.

Kobe is an interesting city stadium-wise. The four main stadiums (this one, the "Wing" from the World Cup, the aging hulk that is Universiade, and Skymark) in the city are all very different from one another.

Well, the MLB Japan tour kicks off Tuesday at this ballpark, I believe. Other than the fact that it's old, I just don't see where the supposed charm is. The ballpark itself, isn't interesting to look at. Tons of outfield seating and large amounts of foul territory. The dirt infield is for softball. I guess it stands out in Japan because it isn't a round dome. My two cents.
