See these pics shot frm vallarpadom ICTT area. this is how the neighbouring islands around Kochi looks like. So land aquisition is won't make a big issue, except the CRZ rules, surely mainland eastern side from eloor, kalamassery, perumbavoor, kakkanad, puthencruz, tripunithura to Edakochi is a concern.
The environment is really fragile at some locations..thats also a concern for a city like Kochi..adverse effects can happen if mangroves are removed for massive landfills, it can be done with providing bridges i guess...

And is there any way to widen chittor road which goes parallel to MG road and KK road..
Thanks sanju , This was indeed required .

can any throw light on the Edappally Kuttipuram 4 lane highway , my brotherinlaw is having land close to the highway side , he is saying current price is close to 5 lac a cent,

does this highway connects North Parur to Main city ... if yes , some time down we can see flats mushrooming towards Parur as its just 1 hr drive from edapally , once highway comes , time will further reduce ...
Calicut-Edapally stretch is given first preference for 4 laning, I dont know when will it happen..the traffic volume is very high and due to this it will take upto 6 hours on road between EKM & CLT, which is covered within 4 to 5 hours by train...

KMC, are you talking about N-Paravur?? yes this road connects it to the main city, private buses between ekm & clt uses this road..
1. Bypass the through traffic on NH-47. Start with an 'inner bypass' using the SP/AP road. Then, by 2020, build the outer bypass Angamaly-Perumbavoor-Puthencruz-Thalayolaparambu-Vechoor-Cherthala.

2. Create a feeder freeway from Kalamassery-Edapally-Bypass-Aroor, with ramps at major intersections.

3. Create an elevated city freeway from Cheranelloor-Highcourt-Menaka-South-Thevara with ramps at major points.

4. Build arteries to CBD.
The point made bold must get top priority....
^^ Krishna good to see that news here....guys any updates on this? has anybody visited that site any time??
its 50 acres waiting for development at Marine drive , can you imagine how that place will look like once its developed!!!!!
I am sad there wont be taller ones as mumbai....:eek:hno:
it may not be possible due to hight restrictions confined to the marinedrive masterplan. Also Marinedrive is in close proximity to southern naval command's air strip.

Glad to see yu back:)
Is it really a Marine drive guys...Marine means related to sea, its just a water front or a lake drive...watz ur openion guys, dont take it in a wrong way...
Arun, can u post some pictures!! it will be more interesting.
I'm a little confused wrt to the name of the city. While I was making holiday plans to visit Kochi next month, I notice that certain ticketing websites have it liested as Kochi, other as Kochin and still others such as Jet Lite and Indian Railways have it listed as Eranakulum (spelling)

Why are there 3 names to the city, any historical reason for it and what is its Formal name.
Its simple, Ernakulam is mainland, Kochi is island!! and the whole district which has this mainland and island is called Ernakulam district.

Cochin>>Anglican name of Kochi

Kochin>>Now thats a mistake whoever done it!!

so in the end, its Ernakulam>>>district>>>Cochin/Kochi Corporation which includes both ernakulam and Cochin/Kochi.
^^ Great shots!! please give photo credits!!

And welcome to the forum John!!
Thank You Sanju.

Actually these are some snaps which I had with me..:) pics taken from Trinity World Tower..
So now expectations are high from you....:)
Any inside story regarding the fall of An Apple a Day Properties? can you guys list out the projects they have built in cochin? I guess they were behind the development of a project called "New Cochin" somewhere near Arur!
Sanju, IIRC, that landing approach is normally not done. The normal approach is from south.
Oh, i never knew that, thanks for the clarification Dileepji...
