As most of the villages in our district and country are turning into towns and urban area leaving very less space for agriculture, farming, and poultry, it is imperative that we need to earmark and encourage available spaces within the city and district for vegetation and agriculture.

There are lot of beautiful farms and agricultural lands in Kollam district and those worth mentioning are near to important town suburbs of Puthur, Shasthancottah, Ezhukone, Chathanoor, Anchal to name the few.

As we eat vegetables that are more toxic than before, we eat meat that have more antibiotic contents than before, the focus on encouraging agriculture, farming, and husbandry and thereby kindling interest in people for home grown vegetables and cultivation is the need of the hour. Vegetation and Agricilture can be done within the city, within the house premises, but the interest and will is the most important investment.

Though this thread may not be relevant from a Skyscraper city point of view but the content of this thread and those who are interested in the content will be more relevant in future for our existance.

I request all our forummers to post all agricultural related, farming related, and animal husbandry related projects, news, events, ideas, and beautiful pictures of agricultural scapes of Kollam district in this thread.:)
