Kota Kinabalu, frequently called "KK", is the capital of the Malaysian state of Sabah. It had a population of 76,120 in 1996.
The city is named for Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak on Borneo, which lies 45 km away from the city.

My turn . . .

This skyline is great for a city of this size, but there is not much originality in the architecture. I give it a 5.5/10.

Hey Pavlo, I learned about this city from GTC. :D

Those are old pics but nice. Right now it's very dense though the buildings are around the same height. The population in the metro now is 300,000 +. Too bad it's tallest(122m, 32 storeys) is pretty away from skyline. There are also many apartments u/c there now :)

When travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Manila, quite often the plane stops at KK. The flightpath is just offshore from the city proper, and also allowing a fine panoramic view of the tall tower across the bay. From the air the city looks more like Western than S.-E. Asian, very organised and clean. So my 7.5 is based on own observation as well as the images below.
