According to Lendlease project director for The Exchange TRX Brendan Walker, the entire development carries an estimated gross development value of about A$3 billion or RM9.1 billion and comprises a 4-storey shopping mall, six apartment blocks, a Grade A office, a hotel and a 10-acre rooftop park.

I'm failing to see what new information this is bringing ? The 4 retail floors of the mall were already visible in the Sept. 2017 section drawing (with 2 basement parking levels and a service floor below) and lowest retail floor is at EL+34.8. The mall is on a different plot, it's a completely different structure that is side by side with the tower while you seem to imply it is below ?


They have an history of failing to put even capital cities on the right place in their maps (sometimes it's even on a wrong continent), so I wouldn't rely too much on their data :nuts:

If you use EL+34.8 then CTBUH statistic is all wrong too. But the street level of the mall is way lower than that. You can't stand at the street level of the mall and say this tower is 445m, it must be joke and it doesn't make any sense.

Definitely the mall is below the mall, I don't think they will build the mall on top of the tower.

Though work on the mall is ongoing, the tower itself has been deemed completed. We will continue to conform with the height and status specified by the skyscrapercenter.
I think the mall below the structure is still under construction. We shouldn't put that to archive that fast. Should allow some times before we put that to DN archive.

Plus this tower haven't get the CCC on the upper part of the tower. It still progressing on the upper part. They have only obtained the CCC on the lower part of the tower.

Exchange 106 was recently awarded its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) for the lower half of the building. During the media preview, we were invited to the 57th floor which is the sky lobby that connects tenants and visitors to the upper half of the tower.

What you're saying equates including the height of the hill a building is built on, if any other construction on the hillside is connected to one of the floor of the building.
Here that's basically the situation, street height at the other side of the plot is lower, but the construction on top of this part of the plot is a completely different structure, and its lowest connection to the building is at 40+m high.

Entrance from mall in another structure is neither open air, nor "significant" per definition of CTBUH

2 Significant: the entrance should be predominantly above existing or pre-existing grade and permit access to one or more primary uses in the building via elevators, as opposed to ground-floor retail or other uses that solely relate/connect to the immediately adjacent external environment. Thus, entrances via below-grade sunken plazas or similar are not generally recognized. Also note that access to car park and/or ancillary/support areas are not considered significant entrances.

What do u mean by hillside? There is no hillside in this development. Whole thing is a shopping mall below the tower.

And there is no sunken plaza as well, it’s built on a street level. One can access the tower through the shopping mall.

respectfully, there's not much we can watch now with regards to construction on the tower itself. I'm OK with leaving it in the archives. The most we do in this thread at this time is discuss the height (which Yellow Fever already warned about) and occasionally post exterior photos, but again there's not much we can see from the outside.

The 106-floor building is topped with a 65m, 12-storey high illuminated crown, making it 452m tall. It will have a net lettable area of 240,000 sq m.
Only now I know why it's called Exchange 106. It's like 106 bungalows were demolished at the site and so to commemorate that event, we'll call the building Exchange 106 and have 106 levels too.
