El-Aaiún (also transliterated "Laâyoune" or "El Ayun"; Arabic: العيون, transliterated al-ʾAyūn, lit. "The Springs"), is a city in Western Sahara founded by the Spanish in 1928[citation needed]. Administered by Morocco since 1976, El-Aaiún is the capital of what the Moroccan government called the region of Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra, and POLISARIO called Occupied Territories. It is also claimed by the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic as their capital.

BTW, i'm a Reda Casablanca
You mean Western Sahara? :) It is a nice town, nice people. The only thing I disliked was the profound military presence. I like how it's built on a hill, good work out lol.

 It's strange that I never met a brother or sister from Casablanca when i lived in the Netherlands, infact it's only a few years ago since I discovered that jewel of a city is Morocco's main metropolis(I knew plenty of people from Rabat though).

Actually, there is not a lot of emigrants, originally from Casablanca, comparing to other parts of Morocco. Most of casaoui (inhabitants of Casa) abroad are for travel, studies or business matter.

I think it's the same for Sahraouis except maybe from Guelmim.

Nop, it's Morocco... It's Morocco who built these cities, and it is the Moroccan Sahara !

The people I met didn't identity as Moroccan but Sahrawis and they have the right to self determination.
Such a wonderful city in Morocco, Laayoune seems like a Somali name almost!
