Nigeria Elevation Tower - Eko Atlantic City - Lagos, Nigeria

Total Floor Area: 132 x 300 Square meters
Floor count: 75
Height: 377 meters
Site area: 4096 Square meters
Use: commercial, office, observation, communication, mixed-use, retail outlet, hotel, etc

The NIGERIA ELEVATION TOWER is a building with a striking helical shape, turning 180 degrees over the course of its height. Each floor is identical in plan, but is set 2.4 degrees clockwise from the floor below, giving the tower a distinctive form by way of an innovative, efficient, repeatable structure. Its shape is pure expression of the relationship between a building’s form and the structural framework that supports it.

Aesthetically, the twisting shape makes the building stand out from the architectural disharmony of the Eko Atlantic, which is largely composed of indistinct towers that do not speak to their location. The tower’s twisting form provides a greater number of units with desirable views of the Eko Atlantic, while also preserving the views for residents living in neighboring buildings, ensuring that NIGERIA ELEVATION TOWER enhances its spectacular waterfront site.

The tower’s structural system is a cast-in-place, high-strength, reinforced-concrete column superstructure. The shape and size of the columns were determined through the use of wind-tunnel testing and three-dimensional computer modeling to analyze building stresses. The building core is a cylindrical concrete form that acts as the central pillar for the tower. As the building ascends, the rotation at each floor occurs around this central mass. The building was constructed using a “jump form” system that takes advantage of its repetitive nature.

This is ridiculous. This will be the tallest building in Africa bar none.

The Al Noor tower in Morocco is going to be 540 metres but yes this will be the second tallest if it is to be finished before any new, taller skyscraper in Africa.

Atleast we're now waking up - this is what i call a real magnificient skyscraper, unlike all these old-fashioned highrises filling up the streets of lagos!, I don't believe this yet until the project kicks off, cos i never believed nigeria could ever embark on a project this great, 75 floors?? I think that would be the tallest in africa
But keep in mind that it might not even be constructed tho... it was under speculative in the African Architecture Awards

Dangote should buy the plans and build it as the Africa HQ of his group of companies from Cement, Refinery, Sugar, Flour, Rice etc.

His current HQ is pathetic!

Will be very impressive if it gets built to that design.

Twisted buildings aren't as easy to build as they appear, hence not that many around. Here in SA a 25 floor twisted building was recently conpleted and it had a fair amount of complications... including unexpected leaning which they had to compensate somehow. Not to mention the cost of all that custom cut glass cladding.

Twisted designs can also play lots of tricks on the eyes, especially if it twists less than 90 degrees

What's the update on this building, please?

No updates, I'm not sure it will be built!
