Maps made by fellow forumer qaiserm. Showing the location of Lahore's building projects. A few pics of the U/C buildings titled "QM" were clicked by him too. :)

Here I've calculated the number of towers going up in Lahore:

LAHORE: Mabarak Center = 6 + Ahad Tower = 1 + Kalma Tower = 1 + Corporate Tower = 1 + Software Tech Park Tower = 1 + Tricon = 1 + Pace Towers = 1 + Pace Circle = 1 + Boulevard Heights = 1 + Mall 99 = 1 + IT Tower = 1 + Alamgir Tower = 1 + Ali Tower = 1 + Xinhua Mall = 1 + Vogue Tower = 1

Approved: Expo Center = 1

Grand Total = 20 + 1 Approved.

Lahore may have fewer 15+ story buildings, but it has far more 10-12 floor buildings than Islamabad. Islamabad is a lot flatter.

Lahore may have fewer 15+ story buildings, but it has far more 10-12 floor buildings than Islamabad. Islamabad is a lot flatter.
The reason why Pakistani cities don't really have a skyline as of now is due to previous height restrictions. For example, Blue Area, Islamabad's main commercial and business hub, had height restrictions which allowed nothing taller than 19/20 stories on one side of Blue Area and nothing taller than 5/6 stories on the other side of Blue Area. Where as, in Lahore, the height restrictions were even harsher. Nothing more than 13 stories was allowed anywhere. Thats why the tallest buildings in Lahore were no more than 12 stories before the completion of Software Technology Park (STP) Tower. Smaller than even the 13/14 storey State life Building in Faisalabad. Which was the tallest building after those in Islamabad & Karachi and the tallest in Punjab, until the completion of the STP Tower.

And ofcourse Lahore should have more low rise and mid rise buildings than Islamabad. Its population demands it. It has more than 8 million people where as Islamabad has just over 800,000 people. Thats a difference of 10 Times in their respective populations!!!

Here's a list of current high rises in Islamabad & Lahore from Emporis. Not the best site I know. Much of their data is outdated, wrong or missing. But its still the best place to go by.

The definition of a high rise is 13 stories or above, according to emporis.

Islamabad

Excluding the newly completed, 19 stories tall Islamabad Stock Exchange Towers. Mind you, in some areas, emporis gives the name of one project but when u open the links the pics are of another project.

High-rise Buildings (completed)

# Building Name [Complex Name] Photos Height Floors Year Status

Habib Bank Tower 19
Saudi Pak Tower 18
Le Meridien Hotel 17 {Rubbish!! No Le Meridien exists in Islamabad!!!}
State Life Insurance Building 16
Shaheed-i-Millat Secretariat Building 16
State Life Insurance Building 16 {Mentioned twice, they meant the OGDCL Building}
United Bank Limited 16
Evacuee Trust Building 15 {Actually its Green Trust Tower, Evacuee Trust is just 5/6 stories tall}
NIC Building 15
Agriculture Development Bank of Pakistan 14 {Has since been renamed to Zarai Tarqiati Bank}

Lahore

Excluding the newly completed, 17 stories tall, Software Technology Park (STP) Tower.

High-rise Buildings (completed)

# Building Name [Complex Name] Photos Height Floors Year Status

Ahad Tower 12
Eden Heights 16 {Its actually 12 stories}
Eden Towers 16 {Same as above, 12 stories}
Rehman Tower 12
Siddiq Trade Centre 12
Crescent Standard Tower

In a Skyline, its both the height & density that matter. But the future looks bright for all Pakistan cities. :)

Oh! I've seen you've sorted the above out KB. But just incase the render link from Landmark Consultants goes haywire again. I've saved the image from Landmark Consultants website onto my photobucket account. :)
