Why did the Monte Carlo tear down their parking structure? I assume it's for City Center, but why did they do it so early?

The 15-story Atrium Tower, built in 1989 is the portion of the New Frontier hotel that was imploded. the 3 story west lowrise building was torn down before the implosion. I don't know what happened/will happen to the 7-story east lowrise.

According to vegastodayandtomorrow.com, the Bally's East Tower, the Imperial Palace Towers, and the Tropicana Tiffany tower may be imploded soon. But we don't want any of these towers dead since we need the East Tower for the conversion of Bally's into the Horseshoe brand and the Tropicana has to get a renovation soon. If the Imperial Palace, the shortest of the Las Vegas megaresorts, were to go, it would be the first-ever megaresort implosion in Vegas. Since when did Las Vegas start planning to demolish their own megaresorts?

Harrah's has not announced anything yet and it usually takes a few months after an announcement before an implosion actually happens. But so far, except for the arena on the empty lot behind Bally's, they've only floated a couple of concept ideas and no serious proposals to replace any megaresorts.

As for the Trop, Columbia Sussex's business plan is in hot water right now and I wouldn't be surprised if they close the Trop and sale it. Which would be okay with me since their 10,000 room expansion renderings looked like crap. Every casino they've owned has been run into the ground and they just lost their gaming license in Atlantic City last week.
