Late Night Show

I just was reading about how O'brien will take over for Leno on the late show, albeit in ten years, but I'm just thinking, would he have to move to LA and do the show in Burbank, or would he stay in NYC? I guess because it's so far down the road, it doesn't really matter.

Conan would move to Burbank. The Tonight Show HAS to be taped in its studio because it has all of its history there. There's no way they'd bring into to NY.
Thank God. I hate Jay Leno. He has no talent nor character.
I have already spoken to some developers in the area of Hollywood and I've told them the idea of having Conan filmed in Hollywood instead of Burbank. They think it's a fantastic idea and they'll be pushing for that. It'll be like Jimmy Kimmel and ABC. Wouldn't that be something? ;-)

Actually the show started in NY, and then moved to LA, so i wouldn't say it has ALL of its history there. The show moved 10 years after Johnny Carson became the host. I don't think it'll move to Burbank. Conan's show has alot of NYC flavor to it - i don't think he'd want to compromise that.

Yeah, Conan is definitely a NY style show. I wish he would stay there (although I'm looking forward to being able to go to a taping near my home!) Hollywood would be the best option for LA spots (conan has said that he will be making the move west)
^thats why I asked the question. NYC plays a character in shows like that. But LA is often lacking in this dept.
How is NYC a character in the show? They could easily make a smooth transition to LA
I like Conan, but I don't think he's right for Late Night. He's too silly. That will get on people's nerves. He's also funny, but he lacks wit. I hope they have a replacement just in case Conan fails to bring in an audience.
Conan has a lot more wit than Leno. Leno is a predictable, dull witted host completely reliant on cheap-shooting script writers.
I don't think Leno is that bad, but I will be happy when he is replaced. Anyways, djm19. Most shows taped in NYC incorporate the city very much. Every episode of Conan will have at least one reference to the city and usually it's something that you wouldn't even know about if you don't live there. If you know New Yorkers, you can take them out of NY but you can't take the NY out of them! So, moving to LA most likely will piss off Conan, and I predict many jokes about how much he hates LA. And so the stereotype of LA continues. Seems like most negative views about LA are written by NYC transplants who for one reason or another have to move to LA for work and miss home (swingers, annie hall, etc).

Who cares if it pisses him off, its the tonight show tradition now. 3 generations in LA!

And conan is originially from Massachusetts. Then he moved to LA to do television writing. Then he got a job to do writing for SNL, and thats how he ended up in NY. Then he wrote for the simpsons and eventually got his late night slot.

So hes already lived in LA, and hes not REALLY a new yorker.

This has nothing to do with comparing him to Leno. Conan just plainly lacks wit. He only knows sarcasm.
How does every god damn thread on this forum end up in a fight?
It won't be Conan's choice. It'll be the execs of NBC in NYC and LA that colloborate to decide what will be best. There is a very high chance that Conan will be moved to LA when Leno leaves. If that happens, we in LA, have to prepare for his arrival because he does have a pretty big audience. Having him in Hollywood would create more buzz and hype for LA than if he were in Burbank. Also, having him in Hollywood isn't such a long shot because it would actually make sense since it's the symbolic town of movie-tv-land.
