because chickpeas were a favorite local product in russia and eastern europe 50 years ago, and was a famous czech export everyone knows that! After all, it couldnt have suddenly popped out of nowhere to be israeli, could it?
BTW- if this helps settle the dispute, every Lebanese person I know who has been to Israel (which is like 3-4 people) claims that Israeli hummus is better than Lebanese hummus. Israel 1: Lebanon 0. :banana:
