What is Leicester's best building? I've added a few that I like and would welcome any further suggestions.

If you have a photo to link to I will add to the list below.

When we have a full list, I might put up a vote to see which one everyone prefers.

Nice thread Lears, and I don't think I can really add much more to it really. There are a number of nice buildings around the city, but I think you've covered the majority of the 'gems'.

Also a couple of random personal faves:

I realy like the Victoria Coffee House. Beautiful ornate architecture there. I have a soft spot for the Jain centre too. I do like the exchnge building (?) which now has the karate dojo in it. With the different pictures of the colonies accompanied with animals. Shame about the shops underneath it.

Is this the building you're referring to?...

The Exchange Building is on Rutland Street next to Curve, and looks something like this...

They are both fantastic buildings, if only the Exchange Building was 10 floors higher, it could have been the New York Quarter ;)

Yep I meant both of those of course! ahem...

But yeah, if they could refurb the Coronation building as a retail arcade it would be stunning. But they've got kebab shops at the bottom, karate in the middle and a recording studio at the top...

What's the story with this bank? How long has it been empty for and why the hell is it allowed to be derelict when it's well up there with the finest buildings in the city?!

I reckon it'd make a cracking museum...

Dunno if these count because they're in Oadby but close enough I guess. I'm on my way into the Knoll now! The interior is pretty amazing too.
