Only trouble is that it is still in Levenshulme and that is basically a mancunian shanty town all the way down Stockport Rd.

I think they might just mean it's rather grotty looking, I've always felt that about Levenshulme, always looks like it needs a good clean. Don't think it's anything to do with race.

I want to move to Levenshulme as a lot of my friends are based there (and run bars and cafés there). There's currently a real lack of new rental properties and the place is in dire need of new resi development.

I would like to think that when developers cost a scheme in areas like Levenshulme, instead of looking at how cheaply they can build it with value reduced low quality bricks etc, they would look on it as a start to raising the quality of the area, as a start to regentrification,
so that the quality of an area rises and not falls with each new build. An example of what these developers get away with is that dross from Sale that was recently on the forum, I have noticed over the last 20 years this kind of blight is on the increase
