The NY metro is on fire, lads!

AC is dying, and this will lure tons on $ that goes to Connecticut, let alone, it would draw the 60m tourists who come to NYC each year.

NY's future casinos in the Catskills, which will compete with AC, also incentivize NJ to approve this.

A casino in Jersey City? Venture capitalist wants to make it happen

Wow that's fantastic news!! It reminds me of Hong Kong, IFC on one side and ICC on the other!! It will certainly create a drastic change in the skyline

Never. Jersey is an immensely proud state and would never ever ever allow NYC to annex any part of it, especially a money making part like JC. I know you are joking, but just to set the record straight for those people who are not familiar. I'm not from NJ btw.
It was just a thought.:)

I was searching, there is no pic on this tower anywhere so far....

maybe everything that dies someday comes back.
Anyway, I'm a bit uneasy about this proposal's likelihood of being built. We'll see I suppose.

From the article...

The $4.6 billion project would also feature residences, a 107,500-seat motor sports stadium and what is billed as the largest Ferris wheel in the world.
What is with this ferris wheel trend? I hope that part of the proposal doesn't get approved. NY's already getting the New York wheel on Staten Island, no need for another.

I assume the motorsports stadium is a gp track? A real Bristol motor speedway type stadium is too large.

I don't like the ferris wheel either but this makes more sense than Staten island. Might actually be able to see something.

I know exactly what site they are thinking of. I've always thought, even 10 years ago, this would be a cool place for a mega-development (we all think about that stuff - right? haha).

Easy access to I-78/turnpike, easy to add a new light rail stop, ferry access, next door to the largest park in the area, great views. The area looks a little trashy so this development would be good to clean up this blemish. Even when I was young I thought it was a weird drive from the turnpike extension to Liberty State Park. Not a great impression on tourists at all.

The day a Jersey City supertall proposal actually gets built is the day the rapture starts. At best this will get sliced down to 200m like every other proposal of the past 5 years.

Infortunately, everytime i go to NY i have the same bad feeling about Jersey city:it simply looks miserable and cheap compare to NY.I would like a major bridge to connect the two cities,i would like a busy and vibrant Hudson river....i would like NY to incorporate Jersey and infuse its famous and unic energy..I just feel bad that the Goldman Sachs tower seems to have been built with the remnants of the IFC building in Hong Kong!Come on!!

That Beekman WTC would be well over 2,000ft. The bcs is 1,000ft here.
