The stadium is for Lille fans. The forum is for everybody, also those who aren't convinced - you should be able to distinguish that.

Apparently this is the only small arena that shall not be criticized during its pathetically slow construction phase.I was talking about the darkness...
Roof structures seemes a bit heavy, the beams I mean then, but it´s not that bad. Indeed let´s wait till it´s finished and well if you take a photo in the wrong way you can make a very light room look dark.Just out of curiosity, why do you sometimes spell Veltins Arena the wrong way because this is not the first time you do it so I wondered if it was on purpose.
Btw. I will wait to the roof is in its final position to judge it for but now I don't like it.
Completely agree apart from the last sentence. My comparison to this ground is primarily Dusseldorf as they have their roof hanging low and also bulky with massive trusses there as well. But the light that is let inside between stands and roof makes a difference. Ironically, in Lille roof is higher than in Dusseldorf when looking at distance between last row and ceiling and yet it looks a lot heavier and overwhelming. The more i see this stadium, the more i dislike it. The roof looks like it is very badly engineered and designed. It is so big and bulky and totally dominates the space, making the whole stadium seem very dark indeed. At present it looks like they will struggle to grow a decent pitch, especially as it will also be laid on a moving concrete floor, but also because of the distinct lack of sunlight.
Admittedly it isn't finished, but i don't think this looks world class at all. I would say it looks like the worst retractable roofed stadium ever.
I raised that very point when construction had not long started, specifically at the halfway line where the 'static' half of the pitch joins the moveable area. Also I'd be interested to know how the static half copes with the weight of the moveable element over it, particularly if there are any problems with the weight of the pitch causing a failure of the jacking system and landing half the pitch on top of the other.^^ I can bet that the grass will have major problems too![]()
I think a good comparation could also be Stockholmsarenan. The roof on that one is not finished yet, but it has a similiar construction as to Lille. It will be interesting to compare those two when they are 100% completed.michał_;91897275 said:Completely agree apart from the last sentence. And I do not care it's not finished yet - this won't change when it is.
Agreed, another similar one is the Ghelredome in Arnhem albeit they have a different layout of the roof alignment where the end stands carry the main weight of the roof.I think a good comparation could also be Stockholmsarenan. Succinct yet epic. With all due respect; who'd be judging aesthetics?
It’s almost ironic. The bloke is completely obsessed. The first time I entered this thread criticizing certain aspects, I was met with fuming hostility, proverbially larded with debilitating smilies; his blueprint and trademark, disproportionally defending his fallacy and maniacal chimera. The slightest form of criticism or the most fragile hint of objection is being absorbed and consumed as a direct attack and personal insult.
