If you don't like it then don't bother commenting. In the end the stadium is for Lille fans, so if they like it then its a good stadium.
The stadium is for Lille fans. The forum is for everybody, also those who aren't convinced - you should be able to distinguish that.
Off the topic. To the extent of my memory, the renders of OL(It's reminded of Office Lady in South Korea lol) Land were published prior to those of Lille about 5 years ago and maybe I was the first to know and make it known to football fans here in football community.(I remember the sensational responses of Korean football fans). 5 years have passed and NOW Le Grand Stade is 2 months away from inauguration, but they didn't have even groundbreaking yet on Lyon side. For this case, Jesus said 2000 years ago : The first shall be the last

Once again i repeat this stadium isn't small!!

and for the darkness look at the roof: it is advanced above the pitch:
Just imagine when it at its initial position enabling the sun lightening the overall field.

I was talking about the darkness...
Apparently this is the only small arena that shall not be criticized during its pathetically slow construction phase.

i notice that some guys who live in cities where they never saw a AAA sport infrastructure come here to vomit their jalousy
its funny that axel criticizes everyone and everything yet if you dare make a constructive comment on this stadium in lille all hell breaks loose. it really isn't that GREAT. is a solid arena, but its nothing more than that.
And that's also childish for some persons to come on this topic and criticize this stadium to take revenge to Axel...
I don't see really the interest to come here and criticize all it is possible and make hasty conclusion in this stadium while it's not finish.
:) :) :) :) :) :)

:) The dear leader shall not tolerate blasphemy. The only boundaries, be it aesthetic, functional, practical or political this fantastic monument to the greater glory of the Republic can be judged on, are boundaries that only recognise the spectacular and the magnificent :)

:) All words synonymous with and including, the concepts analogous with or including, the idea of mediocrity shall be banished from the presence of said monument to the greater glory of the Republic :)

:) Beauty is truth and truth is beauty and this monument to the greater glory of the Republic is true, therefore by the laws of postmodern thought I declare this negativity to be like so... negative yeah. Feel the peace or... something. Don't be like judgmental coz this thing has a purpose and energy... yeah energy, it has that too. and you're just like being mean :)

you can't be serious!

it is already among the best retractable because it isn't cumbersomed like velstins or solan with all the cables shadow above the pitch.
Just out of curiosity, why do you sometimes spell Veltins Arena the wrong way because this is not the first time you do it so I wondered if it was on purpose.

Btw. I will wait to the roof is in its final position to judge it for but now I don't like it.

Roof structures seemes a bit heavy, the beams I mean then, but it´s not that bad. Indeed let´s wait till it´s finished and well if you take a photo in the wrong way you can make a very light room look dark.
Arena seemes solid, outside I am not a real fan of, but about that I don´t realy care anyway.

:) This is gonna turn out to be very claustrophobic :)
The more i see this stadium, the more i dislike it. The roof looks like it is very badly engineered and designed. It is so big and bulky and totally dominates the space, making the whole stadium seem very dark indeed. At present it looks like they will struggle to grow a decent pitch, especially as it will also be laid on a moving concrete floor, but also because of the distinct lack of sunlight.

Admittedly it isn't finished, but i don't think this looks world class at all. I would say it looks like the worst retractable roofed stadium ever.
Completely agree apart from the last sentence. My comparison to this ground is primarily Dusseldorf as they have their roof hanging low and also bulky with massive trusses there as well. But the light that is let inside between stands and roof makes a difference. Ironically, in Lille roof is higher than in Dusseldorf when looking at distance between last row and ceiling and yet it looks a lot heavier and overwhelming.

And I do not care it's not finished yet - this won't change when it is.

^^ I can bet that the grass will have major problems too :)

I raised that very point when construction had not long started, specifically at the halfway line where the 'static' half of the pitch joins the moveable area. Also I'd be interested to know how the static half copes with the weight of the moveable element over it, particularly if there are any problems with the weight of the pitch causing a failure of the jacking system and landing half the pitch on top of the other.

I think a good comparation could also be Stockholmsarenan. The roof on that one is not finished yet, but it has a similiar construction as to Lille. It will be interesting to compare those two when they are 100% completed.

Agreed, another similar one is the Ghelredome in Arnhem albeit they have a different layout of the roof alignment where the end stands carry the main weight of the roof.

To Arnhem's credit, this solution offers a much more open feel to the stadium because the main trusses are at the ends of the stadium and don't run the length of the pitch as is the case with Lille

With all due respect; who'd be judging aesthetics?

It’s almost ironic. The bloke is completely obsessed. The first time I entered this thread criticizing certain aspects, I was met with fuming hostility, proverbially larded with debilitating smilies; his blueprint and trademark, disproportionally defending his fallacy and maniacal chimera. The slightest form of criticism or the most fragile hint of objection is being absorbed and consumed as a direct attack and personal insult.
Succinct yet epic.
