Bielefeld is also an excellent example of a small city with a great PT infrastructure system yet it is one of the most forgotten German cities.Linz has a great system which should be a role model for similar sized cities in Europe without urban rail systems. What's the population of Linz (city proper and metropolitan)?
Ok, so its about modernisation of the Pöstlinerbahn, and not about real integration into the tram network. The problem is that the Pöstlingbergbahn is technically unique and not compatible with the tramways. Hence they will destroy the PB in its current form and make it another tram line. All old vehicles will be heavily changed.
In the end all PB will use the tram network and will start at the main station. Unfortunately they will still require a special ticket, which is nonsense in my opinion.
