First of all I would like to greet you all.

Brothers and sisters I would like to share with you the good news that Somalia is at peace and prospering.

The capital city of Mogadishu is absolutely beautiful, thanks God. Outside the capital the people are very hopeful and happy with the efforts of the Somali government.

My internet is kinda slow so any responses from me would be slow.

God bless Somalia and President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud.

Being here and witnessing while taking part n the change that Somalia is making is absolutely amazing and a dream come true.

I've been here for more than 2 months, I can say that I am indeed a witness to the transformation that Somalia is making.

Nice to see that you're still around, I thought you left us. Have a great time!
Cheers guys.

Hector_of_Troy the memory of my camera is jammed. The few space that I had in my memory stick is of family.

I had a paddle in Lido beach, eat at the famous village restaurant, two different ones. I shopped in Baraka market.

The Turks built a lot of good new roads, a lot of activity in that end.

The Somali army and police are very friendly, the people in general are also friendly. There's also a lot of very clean and value of money restaurants which are very cheap.

 It is good to see online again! We are still expecting some great pictures from you :).
Thanks Xidig.

I am currently outside of Mogadishu and the internet here is dead slow with the occasional mosquito attack. That is why my quality of writhing has turned poor.

I've been offered a job at intelligence but I declined that because my Somali is isn't the best, so I was offered another job.

Allahmdullahi, things are good and the country is good. I would encourage you guys to come to Somalia and help make a difference. Many of you guys are very skilled and well educated.

Be warned the hotels in Mogadishu are kind of expensive, other than that things are ok.

I was there the whole of June month, I see the development happening, a lot of buildings being built and markets are full of people. But there is no organization when building, looking at the Via Liberia road which is packed and looks disgusting compared to how it was before because people have put their shops literally on the roads.
Most of the roads are still damaged, only Makka al Mukarama road is fixed all the way through Somali Parliament building, Hawo Tako, Daljirka Dahsoon to the new building that I think is gonna become a cultural museum.

Also I went to Afgooye and Qallimo and they have 100's of checkpoints and the army are not really that nice, they will demand money most of the time, especially at night time is when they try abuse their power. But I also met many nice soldiers especially in Karaan who were chilling with the people and many of them are interacting with the population but the soldiers near Makka on the newly paved road are harsh on the population.

Anyways it is progressing like you said, Afgooye and all that is kinda peaceful but al Shabaab still lingers on the roads and in Elasha Biyaha and Suuq Xoolaha. And yeah all Somalis who are educated and who can make a difference should go back and help the economy, help Somalis organize properly and please, Somalis really need someone to show them fashion because they dress really funny and think it looks good.

Somalia is miles behind most African countries, matter of fact when i went their last December I was really disappointed with the country. Firstly the country is beautiful it self but the people are horrible. Their so far behind the rest of the world you think its a different century. In everything from respect, dressing, cleanness, attitude, respecting the law, governess their behind all civilized humans. The only place that is sort of built up is around Makaa Mukarama and parts around the Suqaa Barakaraha, the rest looks like it was been hit by a nuke, with tons of rubbish and destroyed buildings.

However the worst part is the corruption from the top to bottom, everything is about money, everyone looking to hustle a dollar from you, from as soon as you step into the airport to your place. Another thing that disappointed me was the Food, I was expecting nice food for cheap, I expected it wrong. Most place's were dirty and the ones that were nice were overly expensive to cater for the "diausbra"'.

At the end of the day I came to the realization that Somalia is beautiful country, but its people are not, hopefully that would change in the future.

I don't think that Somalia is for you, I hope that you NEVER think about visiting Somalia again.

I also think that you are a liar because the people of Somalia are very friendly and hospital.

I have made many good friends here, co-workers from all parts of Somalia. We are almost like family.

This is why I love Somalia, the way I am treated in Somalia I was never treated outside Somalia.

When I go to the shops or restaurants and I don't have money on me, they say no problem, just have what you want now and pay us another day.
Where else would you find this on earth, this trust and respect afforded to you?

Mogadishu is amazingly beautiful; the restaurants are cheap and very clean.

The higher end restaurants are still cheap compared western restaurants.

I love going to the beach.

I love watching the stars at night and pondering abt things.

I love the evening breeze.

Somalia is cool, the people are cool.

The Al-shabab that you people speak of only exist in the news, I never witnessed any attacks, I only hear it in the news, I guess the Shabab threat is exaggerated by haters for whatever motives they have.

But who cares abt haters, people just live their life happily.

Thank you for your post. I find the Somali army and police very friendly and I feel very comfortable when they are around.

Some of us have family members in the police and armed forces and from them we tend to hear interesting stories about the public in general.

Lastly I am proud of the achievement that the government has made.
I am also proud of our president, his excellence Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud.
Under his wise leadership the Somali people can now believe to have a better future and I would also like to thank God for his grace for ending the war.
Steadily the country is progressing all thanks to the brotherly support from Turkey which has been a key partner in Somalia's development.

Never heard of such nonsense, which makes me wonder you are some sort of a mouth piece for the government or someone else. The reality is Mogadishu is expensive and dirty and the people are mostly horrible. Matter of fact you would more like be robbed by the soldiers then anyone else. You can't walk at night, you can't get anything done with having connections or bribe money.

Don't hide the truth, tell it like it is.
The truth looks more like this:

The truth looks more like this:

So now all of Somalia became 2 streets? Don't sugar coat things, tell the reality, eg the massive IDP camp on the way to calalsha biyaha.
For some people nothing is more frightening than a recovering Somalia, which will include integrating IDPs (a bit desperate to use them for your own motives). Hey man, I get it, you dislike this government & want a return to Al-Shabaab so do your thing, there is still this big ass forum with hundreds of development topics & thousands of pictures from all over the country proving my point.

I got no love for the government or Al-shabaab, the only thing I am against is people were are telling very fairy tails and not the truth in Somalia.

You are the liar and the likes of you are the cause of Somalia's problems, corrupt families and individuals who live on the poor.
You are the liar and the likes of you are the cause of Somalia's problems, corrupt families and individuals who live on the poor.

You are an evil person, I could literally taste the evil and hate coming out of your mouth.

It doesn’t matter if you create your own reality, at the end of the day there's the truth and God.

You can bring no harm to the people of Somalia and our institutions. Only what God intends will happen.

I seek God's refuge from the likes of you, from the hatred, smear and lies and evil intentions that they harbor towards the people of Somalia, especially the capital.

And I thank God for what he has blessed us with, ameen

Again may God's curse be on you and may it stick.
Waranle you sound like a bit of a troll for saying: ''the people are mostly horrible.''

K6734 calm down and dadka ha habaarin, it may come back on you. His words/opinions aren't somehow going to distroy Somalia.
