Los Angeles Music

I kind of feel like we need a thread here about the music that is always being churned out of Los Angeles for decades. A place to post concerts happening in our city, new bands from your hood, etc etc.

One place I feel like is putting LA on the map even more is the smell. Been going there for a couple of years, punk as **** place, love it and the people and bands that play there. This is the LA that people don't get to see on MTV. Plus its right in downtown, easy public transportation options. Ever feel like hearing something that isn't pushed down your throats like mst artists are? Take a visit.

And a friend's band No Age has been gaining a lot of press. They've always supported and represented LA and the smell. Something most bands that come out of here don't do. And its good for a small band get so big on a new york biased music review site... http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/50161-nouns

Ha! I'm the first one! Now I'll read the thread...
I like some bands from Los Angeles;

Toto
Eagles
Guns 'n Roses
Van Halen
Mr. Mister

However, most of my favorite music comes from the UK.

I used to like Linkin Park, when i was younger, however, now it's just noise to me.

No Doubt is from Orange County; Gwen Stefani grew up in Anaheim, in fact one of No Doubt's first albums is called "Tragic Kingdom" in honor of Anaheim's most famous attraction, Disneyland
I love the smell...used to go there a lot. It's were I first heard the L.A. band Babyland...one of my favorites.

one of my favorite bands right now, 30 Seconds to Mars, is a Los Angeles band.

I also used to like Linkin Park, now they are just somewhat ok to me. They are from Agoura Hills (started in the same high school as the band Hoobastank), but they became the band they are known as today while in Santa Monica (they are named after Lincoln Park in Santa Monica)

Yeah seen them a couple of times. Good stuff.

You should come down to LA again and we'll go mosh it up while Mika Miko plays.
