LRT/MONORAIL/MRT Train Announcements and Signage at the station.

IMHO our train announcement should be clear and use the proper voice. recently the new KJ line train announcement not so good compare to the previous one. the best train announcement so far is in the KLIA transit and KLIA express. The voice is clear and the pronouncation was good. Why lrt and monorail cant implement the good one...

The signages at the stations also need to change because the one that using now looks so bad.

bagi la seribu alasan pun

bab keselesaan pengguna memang fail

train takde announcement and aircond pun still jalan

takde inisiatif nak mudahkan pengguna...

asal train boleh jalan je...dah cukup baik..bersyukur malaysia masih aman

so sebab cost tak boleh buat...huhuhu what a joke

Which train are talking about? KJ LRT? AG LRT? Monorail? Or something else? When and where? Without those info you complaint is totally useless.
Anyway since Malaysia have Legoland..... can we have this kind of thing in KL Sentral as an attraction ?

http://londonist.com/2013/06/see-a-tube-map-made-from-lego?gallery=616388#gallery=616385,616386

Seriously I think this is a really good idea, just work with Legoland in Johor and ask them make a Klang Valley Integration Transit Map Lego for free. Then put it in KL Sentral and Legoland get free advertisement for themselves. When tourist see this lego map they will know that there is a Legoland in Malaysia and maybe they will visit Legoland in Johor after this.

Prasarana/RapidKL also get some benefit from this fun map as it can give public a new image as to be more young and fun company. This will definitely improve Prasarana/RapidKL's image and make it more friendly to public.

Regarding Train Announcements and Signage at the station

- Sri Petaling Line
* Train Announcements - no problem if serve by AMY new train , but problem with old train announcements
* Signage at the station - New Extensions , some of the Station code not change to new code,no neighbourhood map

- Ampang Line
* Train Announcements - Adtranz train , just driver make announcements, some time not clear
* Signage at the station - no neighbourhood map

- Kelana Jaya Line
* Train Announcements - No Station Announcements and closing door signal for 2 coach train
* Signage at the station - no neighbourhood map

*Hope Prasarana / RapidKL don't use laminate A3/A4 Paper stick @ Information Board

I hope our public transport authority could learn from other country. Look at new york subway system where they trying to upgrade their services and infrastructure. I hope we have neighbourhood map outside every station just like in London and New York.
^^ The new lrt extension stations did have neighbourhood maps though, but mostly located just outside the ticket gates.

For the case of New York, I can say that their subway system is way behind the London's subway system, albeit the London's subway is 50 years older than that of New York's. All the plans in my perspective displayed are actually plans to modernise the system to reach the 21st century standard.

Addition: I would say hong kong and taipei will be the better model as from my point of view they're constantly upgrading their system.

NY sub remains one of the worst example in the industry, even with this new line.

Its true I lived in London for few years and I definitely like their tube system. But if really want to compare between London's tube system and bus system, I would say their bus system is way more efficient and convenient than tube. Their bus system is one of the best i have ever seen.

I never been to hong kong but i've been to Taipei and I feel that their metro system is quite nice as well. It is more modern compare to europe and japan... just like KL where most of our station are in modern design so we shared some similarities. However one thing I dislike about Taipei's metro is that they don't allow passenger to drink inside the train... not even bottle mineral water. I don't get it... its just a plain water not like bubbletea or some sweet drinks.

Not going to say learn exactly like new york but the post i posted earlier is what new implementation they going to add on each station just to improve their public transport quality. I think some new implementation is kinda nice and we could learn from it.

to avoid people drinking alcohol like GaoLiang or rice wine in train, some wine looks really like plain water.

^^Funny that the announcement on which side the doors are to open are not made in English...

But Taipei Metro's in-car announcement is definitely more informative than we currently have, in particular announcing the immediate adjacent stations, and actually announcing which sides the doors are opening before they actually open. I wish AMYs would do that, rather than being Captain Obvious...

The comparison:

Which I strongly suggest that rapidkl just display all the bus infos plus this and that in one big board.

What are "all the bus info" you're asking for?
All 150+ RapidKL bus routes?
Or something else?

Like the board front right of the station exit.
Just the buses that will stop at the particular station will do.
The problem of this current display is that people have to go merry go round just to look at different bus infos. Plus only a maximum of 4 routes can be displayed.

Probably need a better photo to explain.
I saw multiple ones of this kind installed at the Pasar Seni bus station though.

You meant this one? That have ...
(1) List of bus routes serving that stop.
(2) Street map of that bus routes in vicinity of the bus stop.

Anyway, putting the list of routes at every bus stops is a "big" task. Cost a lot to put up, and cost a lot to maintain against vandalism. RapidKL circa 2000 tried to put list of routes at all their 2000+ bus stops then (those red lollipop signs with 3 A4 wings). You can still see some of them left over after being removed by RapidKL or local authorities. DBKL also before that tried to put similar list of routes and streetmap at all their bus shelters. Now they have only GoKL schematic routes, no more streetmap.

Just the buses that will stop at the particular station will do.
This means potentially different maps at every stops. So intead of 1 map for each route (150+ routes), you may need different maps for every 10 stops that could be 300+ unique maps (up to 3000/10).

However, it's much cheaper to put that information on a website. No printing, installation and removal cost. Easy and quick update of the website. See for example RapidKL Monorail Line routes on their website , screenshot below. When you mouseover the station number, the bus route numbers serving that station pops out. The screenshot shows buses for MR5 Imbi station.

Hehe ... Having said the quick update, looks like they haven't updated this portion with the new BNR bus routes (since Dec 2015). Someone need to "prod" them on this.

Probably need a better photo to explain.

Yep, perhaps you can get a snap of the one you meant.
