That example image seems to be a screen capture of a computer screen or something? Is that right?
Personally, I would like to see all Rail stations layouts in KL to be included in Google Indoor Maps.
Ref https://www.google.com/maps/about/partners/indoormaps/ .
At HK MTR main concourse in paid or unpaid area?sabre23t, at the main concourse. I experienced it inside the HK MTR stations. It's very useful especially for multiple floor interchange stations, For instance, it shows the exit/entrance, elevator, escalator, customer information center and etc.
For your information, whether PAID or NOT PAID area. The SIGNAGE system and indicator of Malaysia public transport stations are still very inferior in quality. Please have a look at the blind "BRAILLE" signage at Hong Kong MTR station:At HK MTR main concourse in paid or unpaid area?
How big is that dynamic map display? A2 size? A1 size?
Vertically mounted on a wall?
Touch screen?
Any ads on the screen?
I totally agree with you. But it will be even better if it really works in terms of accuracy, effectiveness, convenience, sufficiency in terms of quantity/numbers and especially visibility/clarity.I as a graphic design student can make signage for KL metro 999x better
basic typography failed
colour combination failed
layout failed
bet they got some old head of department to have his free time print out on A4 and stick
I think I will do an entire project on this
I agree with you too , in fact , I bet even a Primary school Student, Mature enough to seat down, can do a better job then those guys at the offices paid to do thatI as a graphic design student can make signage for KL metro 999x better

But we must also know who has the FINAL say and approval for these designs.I bet even a Primary school Student, Mature enough to seat down, can do a better job then those guys at the offices paid to do that
final decisions ruin at all. why they dont hear public says!!! sighhBut we must also know who has the FINAL say and approval for these designs.
If in PAID area ... the signage should be showing information about the internal rail facilities. For your information, whether PAID or NOT PAID area.
PAID or NOT PAID, the only way we can make better and obvious changes is to unite strongly together and give SPAD, the public transport operators and MOT pressures, or else we can talk until kingdom comes nothing will happen either. The RAKYAT have to unite together against these inferior public transport operators, SPAD and other related government departments. We must let them know public transport is no more about profit and loss and business, it has become a BASIC NEED for the rakyat. If in PAID area ... the signage should be showing information about the internal rail facilities.
If in UNPAID are ... the signage should be showing exits and the surrounding neighbourhood places of interest.
That image by ejatidiaz http://img27.house365.com/bbsuserpic/2014/07/01/140420526153b278cdb3d84.jpg appears to be showing PAID area.
PAID area maps changes less often and easier to maintain. It also can be easier to include into Google Indoor Maps https://www.google.com/maps/about/partners/indoormaps/ that I mentioned earlier.
I'm not against those who wants to put pressure on relevant bodies. However, I am personally more interested in what I can do or contribute. I see that https://www.google.com/maps/about/partners/indoormaps/ as one mapping project individuals and companies can contribute to.give SPAD, the public transport operators and MOT pressures, or else we can talk until kingdom comes nothing will happen either
Trust me, I and my friends and even family members did that long long time ago. But did you see the changes??? This they need much more pressures from us.why not we forward this thread or others related public transports threads to rapidkl and prasarana? maybe they will take action..
Current prevalence of mobiles with internet access means we are no longer bound to what info authorities decided to put at physical locations. Same and better information can be provided into the *hands* of users, by the users themselves. That is new. What else is new?
No doubt it's a plus advantage to able find your ways and directions via these apps or software, but eventually we still have to come back to the basic, not everybody in the whole world knows and able to apply these apps and software at every single little thing/directions in their life. Please don't tell me you expect an old man who don't know how to use all these software/apps or somebody from a poor background or backward third world country who lack of financial means to own all these gadgets and people with visually impaired or other disability problems to fully rely on all these apps only. Besides, please bear in mind that the speed and coverage of Malaysia WIFI system is still quite inferior compare to many other countries. That is why even in countries with such a high and wide degree of WIFI coverage and efficiency like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan Singapore or Hong Kong and USA cum many other developed European countries, all the public transport stations are still emphasize a lot with proper and efficient signage system and announcements. They are willing to spend a handsome amount of budget on this matter although they have much better WIFI coverage and speed compare to Malaysia.Current prevalence of mobiles with internet access means we are no longer bound to what info authorities decided to put at physical locations.
