It's called personification. It's when you give a human attribute to something else.

Nielsiej13 and JAVICUENCA, I don't particularly like the modern part of Madrid. I like the buildings, places, squares, streets, etc that make my city something very different from an American or Southeast Asian city. If almost 60 million tourists visit my country every year, the second world tourist destination after France, I am pretty sure they don't come here looking for skyscrapers that can be found by the thousands in many other cities around the world.

My ideal city is not made up of skyscrapers, highways and malls but something in a more human scale, where streets and squares can be places where people actually walk, and not the necessary link between two malls or between a mall and the suburbs.

Everybody is free to choose their kind of city, but mine is not that one.
