yeah thats too bad!

no I wasn't using other peoples pics, its just, I haven't been posting pics that long and the earlier ones I didn't resize to a standard size like the later ones, hope that clears that one up for you.
Your pics are great and very original!
Impressive pictures of an increasingly impressive city.
Excellent first posting and wonderful pix! I can never get enough pix of Manches-tuh! so please keep adding more as you take them! :)
Excellent...:)
Madchester!

Any city that can produce Joy Division, New Order, the Smiths, the Stone Roses, the Happy Mondays, the Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets et al. and be the inspiration for 24 Hour Party People, one of the achingly funniest films of all time, has got it goin' on.

But why stop at music? One of the most prolific writers in any language, Anthony Burgess, was born and bred a Mancunian.

This Canadian has never been, but I do intend to make a pilgrimage to Manchester at some point in my life.
Oh, in all my sycophantic reverie I forgot to ask...do you have any residential Manchester photos at all?
there's quite a few residential buildings in those pics above-or do you mean houses? Don't have any house pictures sorry
Great photos. I like cities (Melbourne AU, Boston MA and Portland OR also come to mind) that have a mix of modern and older styles of architecture. When I was in Manchester (in the early '80s--classic Joy Division era) it looked pretty bleak--it's looking good today!
I love british cities!! They are really unique!
You got here some amazing pictures :eek:kay: and Manchester, superb ;)
Brilliant!

I have not been to Manchester or the north for years, hope to get back within the next year.
Nice. It looks like a mini-London.

The city looks like it dates mostly from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Was it heavily bombed during WWII?
Great pictures! It certainly shows the great strides Manchester has made in recent years.

Yes Manchester was heavily bombed during WWII- as a major industrial and manufacturing city it was a prime target for the German Luftwaffe. Unfortuntately many impressive Victorian buildings like the ones in these pictures fell victim to the bombing.
