Seafood! Singaporeans' Favourite!

Where to have them? My favourites are Jumbo and Xiao Hong Lou at East Coast Seafood Centre. ;)

Here're some pictures...

Steam Live Prawns

Scallop in Mini Yam Basket

Deep Fried You Tiao with Sotong Filling

Seafood Mee Goreng

You Zhan Soon Hock (Expensive! This small one costs S$57!!!)

Finally, Chilli Crabs! Deep Fried Mantou (at the side) to go with the sauce. Yummy!

Scotts Picnic at Scotts Shopping Centre

We have quite a number of food courts. I think Scotts Picnic was started first. It has a good variety of food stalls - Italian, Japanese, Muslim/Halal, Chinese, Thai, Indian etc.

Minced Pork Noodle

Beef Kuay Teow

The Japanese Food Stall
Foodiegoodie!!

my parents aren't a big fan of mussels, cockles and lobsters... we like Chilli or Black Pepper Crabs, especially Sri Lankan. If you are into Japanese food, I think Restaurant J at M Hotel does have Hokkaido Crabs on its menu around this time.

The scallop in basket and youtiao squid were taken at Jumbo Seafood last Sunday. I was surprised they serve dim sum too during lunch. Maybe, I'll try next time.

btw, most kopitiams under HDB flats do serve seafood as well... It's a matter of preference...

You had seafood at East Coast? The bench table looks like it's there... :)

I saw big a huge rat too at the East Coast Hawker Centre before they redo the place... Wonder if the hygiene level has improved. Their carpark is almost always FULL. :(

Like the Satay Beehoon there...

Yup! I love good food! Singaporeans' favourite past time.

I agree S$57 is expensive... never order fish in SEAFOOD restaurant... But I was treating my parents, so ordered a fish.

$57? I hope it tastes much better than other garoupas!

It's been a while I haven't enjoyed black herbal soup yumm
hehe... It's 5 times cheaper to buy one (bigger some more) at the market and DIY (Deep-fry It Yourself).

Erm... it's not black herbal soup... it's Beef Noodle (meaning round white noodle with beef sauce) Not sure if there is a halal version... but, we'll see when you are here in May/June. :)

Maybe, Banquet Food Court has it... got to check it out first.

LOL, Imagine the little creatures stalking behind the bowls, like those NGC documentaires."the cockroach, waiting patiently in the forest of glassware, stalking its unexpected prey, sitting on the plate"
BTW, very nice food! And nice pics too! Can be used for those Tung Lok magazines.:D

hmmm... when you eat seafood and start thinking about H A/B, tsunamis victims and "shit"... gosh... it spoils my appetite. :puke:

Well... eat organic food then. :tongue3:
^

Organic food isnt common in Singapore is it?

I know its very common in London supermarkets and it sounds 'safer'

so when you eat prawns do you eat the black thing?

there are more outlets now. I know a few... Bukit Timah areas like Cluny Court and City areas like Chinatown (Temple St/Smith St I think) and one facing Telok Ayer Park... also, Orchard Wheelock place.

I know you need someone to de-shell and de-vein for you. :D
