NorthPark Center in Dallas, TX was built in 1965 as the largest climate-controlled retail establishment in the world. NorthPark is a very upscale mall. The mall is 2,000,000 sq ft (185,800 m2) The inside of the mall hasn't changed since it was built. This mall was the first mall featured in Vogue Magazine. NorthPark Center is the most popular shopping center in North Texas with over 27 million visitors a year; it’s one of the top five shopping destinations in the USA. Northpark has annual sales of more than $1 billion dollars. H&M will open a store at NorthPark in 2011.

Chadstone Shopping Centre (also known colloquially as Chaddy) is a super regional shopping centre located in the inner south-eastern suburb of Malvern East in the city of Melbourne, Australia. The centre is the oldest in Victoria, opening on October 3, 1960, and the largest in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, with approximately 530 stores and over 9500 free car parking spaces. The centre boasts major anchor stores such as the Myer and David Jones department stores, Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets, and Kmart and Target discount department stores as well as a Hoyts cinema multiplex, an AMF bowling alley, a Borders store, an Apple Store, Dick Smith and JB Hi-Fi electronics stores and over 500 specialty stores, of which the majority are fashion related over other categories, with numerous high-end labels being tenants of the centre. There are also two office towers located at the southern side of the centre as well as two food courts. Chadstone was also the first Australian shopping centre to have an annual turnover exceeding $1 billion.

The mall was founded by the Ghermezian brothers and opened its doors on September 15, 1981. West Edmonton Mall held the title of world's largest mall for a 23 year period from 1981 until 2004.





West Edmonton Mall covers a gross area of about 570,000 m2 (well over 6 million sq ft). There are over 800 stores and parking for more than 20,000 vehicles. More than 23,000 people are employed at the property. The mall houses a shipwrecked galleon, NHL sized hockey rink, water park, submarines, fair rides, and a casino.




The mall receives 28.2 million visitors per year; it also attracts between 60,000 and 150,000 shoppers daily, depending on the day and season. The mall was valued at $926 million in January 2007.
