It's about time Malmö gets an own photothread.
Turning Torso is almost finished and a lot of things are happening in different parts of the city. The building of the city-tunnel has begun (traffic chaos!) and Västra Hamnen is still in full developement.

I'll start off with some pics from Stortorget at the time when Malmö FF supporters celebrated the first gold in 16 years, last october.

What happened here?
Supporters lit flares (emergency flares) to show their appreciation. It is very common among football supporters throughout Europe.

Actually, the first picture I posted (taken by one of my friends) was published today in the largest Malmö newspaper "Sydsvenska Dagbladet", in an article about the Swedish league which is about to start this weekend.

Maybe I'll head out and take some pics at Turning Torso today...
nice pics..
malmö is a rugged raw city

Alright, here are some fresh Malmö photos (shot today):

Turning Torso base, seen from the south:

The tower seen from the south, notice that only one crane is left now:

From the east. I think the building to the right is a parking garage:

Lower parts seen from the north:

All of Turning Torso as seen from the north (I like this pic):

From the west. Notice the brand new buildings in the front.

Nice vertical panorama picture shot east of the tower:

A part of the Malmömässan Convention Centre, just next to TT:

Parts of the beach walk at former Bo01 area:

The "Dockan" area is really starting to look nice now:

The north parts of Malmö's city centre seen from Västra Hamnen. Malmö is more and more becoming a "sea side city" now:

Notice S:t Petri Church spire in the background, and the new university (teachers' school) buildings on the right:

EDIT: Better quality now!

Nice pics. TT looks so lonely. 3 Stortorget pics are cool too, I like the buildings beside this square.
By the way, I'm using bebo.com to upload my pics - unfortunately this site compress (and resize) the pics a lot. Anyone know another site where you can upload pics?
use photobucket.com...

could we see more pics of the old town of malmö? in the first photos it seems to be verrrry nice! :)

I am heading out to shoot different parts of Malmö later this week. This beautiful and cosmopolitan city really deserves it, because I have the feeling that a lot of people think Malmö is a ugly and boring city without ever have been here at all.

Fosie may not be one of the most beautiful parts of Malmö though. :)
