Manchester 'Coffee Table Book' Website

Dear All

Website

Trident Rider and I were toying with the idea of putting together a Website, which takes elements of the contributions from SSC, including some of the Wonderful photos by Forum Members, as well as a History of current and past Developments, including Interesting facts about Manchester, to showcase our City.
The idea isn’t to replace any function of SSC, rather it’s a portal which celebrates Manchester’s renaissance and growing pre-eminence whilst highlighting and celebrating its past, including contributions from Key Stakeholders in the City's Development, as well Forum Members (one and the same in some cases)

Somewhere people can read and learn about its fascinating history, whilst realizing its continuing ambition.
At this stage, we wondered if anyone was interested in contributing, even if it was to allow use of photos from this forum, then please could you either contact myself, or Trident Rider via SSC.

We both have a real passion for Manchester, as most of us do, so it was just a case of knowing if anyone would be interested at this stage, and if we do move it forward, we can form a list, and strategy.
This came about over general conversation on SSC, about a Coffee Table Book.
These are always interesting, and we thought why not have a different take on it.
Not just a Then and Now Book, more a Celebration, in words and pictures via a Website.

Cheers
John (pookey)

Sounds interesting. I recently noticed Frankfurt has a similar website focused on their city's future.

https://www.skylineatlas.com/

I think outside of these forums 90% of people, especially in the South East have no idea of the scale of development in Manchester.

Without wanting to get into politics I guess the success of Brexit will determine if Manchester or Frankfurt would benefit most from London's prosperity/demise.

Good Spot, and quite pertinent to me, as I can trace my Mother's family back to Frankfurt, where they came from in the 1860's to Manchester (Crown Lane, Angel Meadows & Back Balloon Street,Collegiate Church Ward) during the Industrial Revolution.

So Interesting to know more about Frankfurt. Feels like a Twin City to Manchester to me personally. And it seems to have similar ambition as Manchester. Anyway, enough self indulgence
Very interesting Website. Thanks Fairhurstfan
