Excited to have completed on yet another leasehold site acquisition for a new brand to enter the market - Blue Whale Oriental supermarket @ St James Tower, Manchester. From the team at Bon Pan Asian restaurants, Blue Whale will be a brand new circa 5,500 sq ft high end oriental grocery experience offering fresh fruit and veg, Fish and Seafood, with a large 60 cover Sushi restaurant counter under a new brand Aka Sushi.

Popped up on Linkedin today. Thought it was new. Thanks.
Love that there’s something high end and modern coming to Chinatown!

Don't think it's been posted but the former Richmond Tea Rooms on Richmond St is going to be "Cockatoo" bar (nice pun!). An attractive sign is up. Also Vanilla has closed down.

The former Caffe Nero on Peter St has signage up for its new incarnation, Haunt Haunt Manchester – Coffee – Wine – Aperitivo. The interior looks well on its way to being complete.

The in-limbo Caffe Nero on Portland St has 2 people inside today just stood chatting. It's still listed on the website as "tenporarily closed" and all signage and fixtures are still present. Let's hope we don't lose it like Cross St, Peter St and the north end of Deansgate branches.

Workmen have been in the site of the new Five Guys at Piccadilyl Gardens for the past 2 days, seemed to be just measuring and moving copius amounts of fake plants and jade green comfy chairs around ready to be got rid of. A shame Five Guys can't use them instead of their rock hard seating!

Wing Stop in the former Bella Italia does not seem to be progressing and neither does Tim Horton's on Market st (former Jessop's). However Dunkin', PIccadilly has made a full clearout of Fatso's interior and has started on the Dunkin' one.

Has the Princess St branch gone? That had the worse customer service.

No, it was in fact the first to reopen last year too.

Can they demand that bloody awful canopy is removed if they move in to the old Jessops? Wish they’d do something with this side of the Arndale

Plans were put in last year to remove the canopy from the remainder of former BHS and Jessops unit, so there are plans for it to come down.

Covered in part, I note from yesterday, in rather well done "art work", I think representing the cartoon Roadrunner!!! Had a walk around town yesterday....Loved this and so looking forward to it being up and running.
For any one wanting to visit the above, Village tram stop on the TPL is the nearest stop, 2 mins walk from there.

Former Pizza Express unit in Bramhall to become 'Bab' similar to their Northern Quarter restaurant. Owners also own Pen and Pencil in the NQ which is was originally to become, however owner thought 'Bab' concept would work better at the site (perhaps to takeaway some of the custom from near-Eastern concept restaurants already popular in Bramhall- Shaam and Turquoise)
