So... I was in Manchester this weekend, and happened to get time to have a look around at the various stuff going on. A few observations and questions:

1. Beetham tower looks mighty and impressive. You can already see it from pretty much any location in and around the city centre. It's going to be amazing when finished.

2. Eagle star house being razed is a good job well done. That whole street looks so much better. What's going up there in it's place?

3. There was some other building being demolished in the city centre. Not far from eagle star house. What's the story with that one?

4. That new office building at Piccadilly gardens (1 piccadilly?) looks horribly dated already. It doesn't fit with the local area, it doesn't interact well at ground level, it looks to be of poor quality. It's a real shame and a big dissapointment. It feels as though it's sat out there on it's own. Really bad aura about the place already. I'm not surprised they've taken ages to fill it.

5. In general the city centre looks great. Looking forward to a few more of the tall proposals being built.

Theres a 9 storey office block going where Eagle Star House used to be,for law firm Cobbetts.
The building being demolished that your on about could be one of 2,the Sping Gardens one or the Chancery Place site, both are on the Main Developments thread.
