INFO:

In the east stand the Mandara Mountains, which Nigeria shares with Cameroon. The site is propitious to hiking. From Gwosa, 70 miles from Maiduguri, it is possible to go for a beautiful hike within the mountains of volcanic origin. You can observe butterfly and monkey species not seen anywhere else.
volcanic range extending about 120 miles (193 km) along the northern part of the Nigeria-Cameroon border from the Benue River (south) to Mora, Cameroon (north).
The mountains rise to more than 3,500 feet (1,100 m) above sea level. During the colonial period they provided the border between the British and French Cameroons. The region is densely populated. People of the Chad language group predominate, living in dispersed homesteads or villages of small, circular huts. Sorghum is the principal crop. The major towns are Mokolo and Maroua in Cameroon and Mubi in Nigeria.

It's a shame that not even half of the nations people probably know that gorgeous areas like this even exist in the nation.

Very true... but i dont blame nigerians living in nigeria... they are not able to appreciate (very well) or dont have time for nature coz of their backgrounds and struggle in life.
