DoubleDragon to open shopping mall in Divisoria

MANILA, Philippines - DoubleDragon Properties, a company owned by Jollibee owner Tony Tan Caktiong and Mang Inasal founder Edgar "Injap" Sia II, is planning to open a mall in Divisoria, Manila.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, DoubleDragon said it has acquired a nearly 6,000 square meter prime real estate property at C.M. Recto corner Dagupan Sts., Divisoria. It had entered into a memorandum of agreement to acquire the property from Equitable Development Corp. and Menlo Capital Group.

MANILA, Philippines—Newly listed real estate developer DoubleDragon Properties Corp. is setting up a new shopping center in Divisoria, Manila, which it hopes to complete by September this year in time for the Christmas holiday shopping rush.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Friday, DoubleDragon said it had entered into a memorandum of agreement to acquire the rights, title and interests of Equitable Development Corp. and Menlo Capital Group over a 5,972-square meter real estate located at the intersection of CM Recto Avenue and Dagupan Street in Divisoria.

Saan kaya ito itatayo? Sa corner daw ng dagupan at cm recto. Isnt it occupied by Benson shopping mall at may puregold supermarket sa ilalim. Or is it the burned down tutuban mall?

It should be the one in Benison because Menlo owns that property. I remember they had a plan to build townhouses on top of it which didnt push through. They would only be renovating it. That should explain why it will only take them a short 4-5 months for the target opening.

oh... Well they better have a very good marketing dept coz that mall is having a very hard time getting tenants since it opened. Would be nice if they build a skybridge from 168mall to their mall.

It's not a CityMall and is being built by DoubleDragon...

CMCCI which is 34% owned by SM and 64% by DoubleDragon.

Hence, being out of the SM sphere, the existing Puregold may probably stay instead of the SaveMore being suggested in this thread.

I think it is a CityMall owned by Injap kasi 5K square meters lang yung property eh.

Ok na yung design nung structure at least the building will be completed with additional levels at gaganda rin ang interiors . Hope the exteriors color will be changed with simple color tones which is pleasing .

How can that mall attract potential buyers with cars or whatever when the Recto Avenue fronting it is full of street vendors? The authorities really need to move those vendors inside buildings. As of now, traffic movement is literally crawling.
