Went for a short walk around downtown today -

Blue Earth County courthouse

There were a few more people walking around than these pictures do justice but overall its still a pretty quiet downtown. (except friday/saturday nights when the college kids come out)

More to come of course.

Nice pictures. The courthouse and its yellow stone is interesting.

Don't quote me on this but its most likely quarried from the Mankato area. The same stone that they used @ Target Field.

I wasn't able to find any signs around that construction area and can't find anything on the Mankato city page. Hopefully something more interesting than a parking ramp.

Thanks for the photo tour, CMJ! Looking forward to seeing more Mankato photos. It's nice to see southern Minnesota get some representation.

I believe you're right – isn't that called Kasota Limestone?

Yes.. or "Kasota Stone"
