UPDATED OCTOBER 2013:

Eastern37 said:
Hey Guys, I've started on a map of all the projects in Brisbane. So far I have only completed South Brisbane/ West End, but will add the rest very soon.

The map is public and anyone can edit it. Everyone is welcome to go in and add, fix, update projects. Just make sure that you add projects to the right layer.

First layer for projects in South Brisbane / West End (or South of the River)
Second is for the Valley and surrounding areas (North of the River)
Third is for the CBD

Red = Proposed
Green = Approved
Blue = Under Construction

Buildings can be kept on there until they are externally complete, after which they will be deleted to keep the map as clean as possible. Also use current renders for the projects instead of construction photos. For projects that have their own threads I will add a link to it in the description.

Check it out > Brisbane Projects Map

MOD EDIT (16/04/2013):

This is a map originally posted by jayt on a now deleted thread.

Changes to this are:

Casino Towers and Aurora now under construction. Observatory Tower, Lexicon and Flynn to be added as under construction.

333 Ann St and Baroque to be added as proposed.

Devine mystery in Charlotte St to be deleted as site up for sale.

If anyone is able to amend map or create a new version please do so!

Okay, I've set up a first draft of the new "Map for underconstruction/proposed." Keep in mind its only a draft at this stage. Eventually the black buildings will not be black, there will a legend with the buildings all numbered and named, All streets will be named. And obviously all relevant UC and Prop. bldgs will be colour coded.

Im trying to produce a map that both shows where bldgs are (like a map) while also trying to give some impression of height and density.

Before I go on and put any real effort into the production of a final image, Id like some opinions about what else should be included, any modifications people would like to see.

And most importantly Id like to know of any ways in which the image may be made more understandable. Place yousefl in the shoes of either a newbie to the site or an interstate forummer who doen't know all that much about Brisbane's layout. Is it clear? Can one easily find one's bearing? Should I somehow mark the landmarks? LIke southbank, Storey Bridge, Queens Street Mall etc.

Also at this stage I can only upload the image to Geocities, which needs to be reached through a link. Is this suitable? Or is it too much hassle to click on a link? Also do you think that the image takes too long to load? Do you think it should it be bigger, smaller? etc.

That is truly an impressive piece of work Brizbane2.

I think you are definitely heading in the right direction. Hopefully with the assistance of the moderators this could be hosted directly rather than having to be linked - that would be an improvement. As to size , that is really difficult. There is no way that the level of detail will fit into anything smaller - the only possibility would be to split it into sections - but that would to a large extent defeat the purpose of the map. Maybe a compressed version to give an overview which could link to the detailed map or sections.

Your work is so good that we should be lobbying to get it included in the ourbrisbane website.
