Around 1992 there was an awesome radio station in LA, MARS FM...

I loved it so much I used to tape most of it and still have on several cassette tapes. This also about the first time Lalapalooza was becoming a household name or at least I thought.

This station played some for the most progressive high energy stuff I had ever heard and not since actually. I miss it so much. Wonder whatever became of the crazy DJ's and the rest of the cast?

Who else remembers this station? Pleasant LA memories indeed!:)

I remember MARS FM, everyone and their mother was listening to it. Too bad it had such a short life .... I guess that what happens when you don't play commercials, right?

Hey Barce, how can I get a copy of your tapes????

Sorry I forgot to get back to you!

Yep, its a good thing I taped several HOURS of MarsFM while in LA. I used to love when they would play that spaceship sounds in the background.

The best of course was the full throttle, super energized, spaced out, out of this world music! Some of the singles would play for about 10-15 minutes it seemed and no it did not get boring the song would progress into something more bizarre. It was like being at a RAVE party way before we even heard of the word.

Youtube should have some samples for all to still worship. Now I wish I would have attended one of thier rare events at local clubs or events in town.

People this was one wild and great station!
